Successes, Failures, and Unknowns

I started my grow with 7 jars - 3 B+ and 4 PE.
Successes
The first flush from my three B+ cakes gave me between 10-11 grams dry, 5 grams just from one cake. I didn't get many fruits, but they were semi-large and fairly dense, with one fruit weighing 3 grams dry by itself, and most of the others weighing a gram or so. The fruits were well-formed - no fat asses, no spindly stems. Wish I had pics for you guys.
Failures
One of my PE cakes got trich before birth. My fault for moving the jar around too much and disturbing the dry verm barrier.
I took another PE cake and spawned it to coir/coffee/verm/gypsum. It has trich, and has been isolated temporarily in an air-tight container. I'm sure it's too cold to start an outdoor patch, but fuck it - I may as well give it a shot since the tray is useless anyway. My first mistake with the spawning was that I overcooked my substrate. I think my second mistake was using a 1:4 spawn to sub ratio, when I should have gone with something smaller. Lastly, I probably didn't let it colonize enough. Live and learn.
Unknowns
My two surviving PE cakes were dunked, rolled, and put into the FC a few days after the B+ cakes. After two weeks, the B+'s had started to pin, with no sign of pinning from the PE's. I waited another few days, still no PE pins. So, I re-dunked the PE's, along with a B+ that finished it's first flush, rolled them and put them into the fruiting chamber a few days ago. Problem: My fiance had adjusted the temp of the fridge the day I dunked those cakes. The next day when I went to roll them, there was a disc of ice on top of the plate in the pot. I'm hoping that since the ice only formed on the surface, that the cakes were somewhat protected under the plate. All three cakes have since gotten a bit fuzzier, but they're not bright white like before. Then again, neither is the cake I dunked a day later even though no ice formed in the water. They all seem like they haven't recovered from bruising.
Still no pins at all from the PE cakes, and no 2nd flush pins from the 2 re-dunked B+ cakes yet. Last B+ cake is currently being dunked after finishing it's first flush.
My Thanks
My thanks goes out to every member of The Shroomery. 10 grams may not be much to brag about, but I will have two very nice trips that I wouldn't have had otherwise. I wouldn't have gotten this far without the volumes of information in the FAQ and the messageboard, or without the advice and feedback of the members. Thank you all!
Conclusion
Since you've taken the time to read through this long-winded, pictureless post, perhaps you have some advice or feedback you'd like to share? I definitely have a need for improvement. I have another 7 jars currently colonizing. I have most of the materials needed for bulk, but I'm not sure I want to risk it again with PF cakes. I'm debating whether to fruit all the cakes normally, or to try my luck with a bulk spawn in a monotub or two with some of them. I finished off my brown rice flour with these 7 new cakes, so maybe I'll move on to grain after I've fruited them.
As usual, any and all advice or feedback is appreciated.

The first link looks promising, but a pain because I'd have to set up a sterile incubation area and I'd have to go through a lot of BRF. Also, I'd only have enough room in my fc to fruit one or two bags of colonized sub at a time. I might give it a shot, but then spawn the bags to coir in monotubs so I can stack the tubs and save room. I barely have enough room for my FC and my supplies as it is (tiny house).
The second link seems iffy to me. The pics are pretty, but it seems like a "crumble and case" tek. From what I gather, dunking and rolling PF cakes gives comparable yields to crumbling and casing them. The flat cake tek basically makes 3-4 cakes grow into one large cake without adding any nutrients. I don't see how that could increase yields. Is the surface area of the flat cake really so much more than the surface area of three PF cakes? Besides, shouldn't the flat cake be cased for a better pinset?
But I will consider the lazy mofo bag tek. It should give me a decent amount of spawn to start monotubs with.
Thanks for the links!

your cakes have been exposed to the elements and cant be used to make more jars. you can only do it after full colinisation before it gets exposed to contaminants.
likely that you have slowed things down by a few days by getting it that cold.

Oh no, the cakes that are in the fc now will continue to be fruited that way. I have an additional 7 jars that are colonizing, and I'm not sure whether I'll fruit them in my FC, or use them for bulk.
I figured pinning for my second flushes would be slowed down from the ice-water. Hopefully, that will be my only problem.
