Yesterday I injected 4 cc's of the PF strain spore solution into a half pint jar with regular tap water, and regular honey. I am blessed with a first use very clean water tap water, so I don't have any concerns about that. But then I reread the orginal post and it mentioned yellow honey from the health food store. What kind of honey is that? I know there are different types of honey, but would it affect what is trying to be accomplished here? I don't know if mine is working yet, I will check it when I get home tonight. Let me know if it is some type of special honey that is needed, this is very interesting. ------------------ Sometimes you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Uriah Heep: I think (maybe)it should work: If you look for the 9er tek (http://www.shroomery.org/9er/index.html) he clones the mushs using the water (made blending a piece of shroom) to inject new jars....but it's not important how is the medium(solid or liquid)...the spores and the myc look for nutrients and good climate conditions.....when they found they'll start to grow....in the other hand you can get your solution moldy.... This is why the piece of mush isn't able to extends ryzos (really i'm not sure of this but...i'll try and i'll post results here..)Foster: Because with honey buyed at health food store i'm sure that in the honey there's nothing but honey (no preservatives, antimycotics etc.)..the same as for the brown rice flour....

I recently tried this, but put a little *more* honey in, cause it was really late, and I was tired. Anyway, It looked like I got some debris floating around in it once i sterilized. Do you think any of this would really make a difference?vivid [This message has been edited by vivid (edited December 21, 1999).]

Excellent job!!! I think I'll be trying this new tech out now. It would be so much more efficient and less time consuming if it works. ------------------ Trying to rationalize with an irrational person, is in itself irrational!

T^his tek definately works but I suspect that the credit belongs to hippie3. As an added note though, you have to be careful not to use to much honey. It contains hydrogen peroxide and to much can kill your spores. Once the spores have sprouted, you can add a shot of peroxide then. The bubbling action of the reaction will cause the mycelium to float to the surface. Makes it easier to concentrate the mycelium in a syringe.------------------ Be sure to check out www.3mshrooms.homestead.com for your spore needs

CLuB99, Credit where credit is due. When I saw your post, I informed everyone on ADM about your breakthrough, and I got flamed by hip, check ADM archive. Perhaps he added a slice of lime to it. Anyway, great job buddy! Look forward to your next post!!!------------------

what a crock. yes, cluB99 tried honey befor i did. but look at the dates in this thread. there was no cluB99 honey tek. this thread wa dead until doc charlie, playing ego games i suppose out of jealousy, resurrected it. i posted the Honey Tek to adm, not cluB99 nor doc. i made it popular and if it were not or my efforts, the idea would have stayed buried in the vaults. so give the devil his due. or do a search here for cluB99's honey tek if you doubt because there ain't one!

So, after all this discussion, the wrap up is, "Where is the "Spore to Liquid Media to Injecting Mycelium Tek" ? This is the one that has been successfully repeated by another shroomer on his own. It does not matter who get's the credit since each person usually makes minor adaptations as they perfect for themselves in their environment. For example: When doing the http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem.php?View=docs&doc=36 it is important to know that Shroom_Wizard lives on the Florida coast, one of the highest humidity climates in this country.

I have been using the honey tek for about a month and have only great this to say about it No contam's and fast growth. The only differance is that I transfer 1/10th of a petri plate of mycelium to 250 ml solution. I have about 10 seperate strains growing and there all doing great. Today I am doing a mass spore injection 1 print of tasmainian dark and thick to 250 ml of honey water. let you all know how it goes.

Would it be possible to just boil the jar (say for an hour) in a saucepan instead of using a pressure cooker? Can't afford one.
