Learning some jazz. This is Miles Davis' All Blues. Rumor has it, Miles was a bit of a deadhead in the 80's. I think he might have played a few tunes with them in the 80's... I think he jumped on eyes of the world a couple times... could be wrong though... word of mouth.

I wasn't actually playing this is rhythm with anything,I was just practicing a two chord thing and I played it backwards.
Sounds kinds trippy.
I'll have to extend it.

I know this is sort of redundant, but here's a complete demo disc of mine. I'd be willing to Donate any of the tracks off of it to a Shroomery Compilation disc/torrent etc... http://www.mediafire.com/?4yomkgnzhyc
BTW, is anyone actually compiling material from this thread? I still think it's a great idea.

just dug this old track out of the archives (thanks to a friend of mine that held on to a mix CD I made him five years ago!). it's a remix of some MC's I met on soulseek back in the day. they sent me an the capella track and I added a beat. at the time i was going by 'jwax', so when the second mc says "trash new ear drums / don't combat the wax / it only acts as a filter / passing through facts", i felt extra cool. haha

Here's some stuff from this weekend, we were testing our new recording gear. It's pretty cool to not be stuck in the dark ages anymore.

Power ballad!
That guitar that comes in around ~1:10, holy fuck yes. Some of my earliest memories of being awesome and making out in high school have that exact tone ingrained into them.
The drums sound real nice too! What kinda gear did you guys get?

A brand new Yamaha DTX-V2 set, a digital monitor, new headphones, sort of minor stuff over that. But the DTX-V2 is the big deal.
Our new recording setup is completely virtual/digital, which is cool because our recording space isn't sound proofed.
here it is:
Tascam DP-02 (Digital 8-track) Berrhinger Eurorack 2004a (16 channel mixer) Yamaha DTX-V2 Digital Drum set Line-6 Spider 2 amp (pawn shop gear, FTW! ) 4 CAD mics, for vocal use (though we usually just plug them in to the mixer and use them for ambience and natural reverb.)
Plus new cables, and Audiotechnica Headphones!
I also built a new axe from spare parts I had, so now I have a little better tone control than before:

mmmmmm 2 vintage strat pick-ups, and Gibson '57 classic... LP neck profile, grover tuners, + the comfort of a strat style body...

heh, it's really cool that you, and the other shroomery folks like this stuff! We were pretty unsure if we were ever gonna have an audience for this material, so it's good to know it's appreciated!

your setup sounds pretty fucking righteous. nice job building yourself a franken guitar.
and i'm glad to be able to listen! you guys have a cool sound, i've said it before, but it reminds of john fahey/sir richard bishop rolled into one (have you heard 'freak of araby'?).
i just finished this track up a minute ago... for like a week i couldn't figure out what to do with this track, but tonight, through the power of pot, i finally wrote some stuff to fill it in, and a bassline. basslines are a lot easier to write when i'm stoned!

lukeboots,I know you like to record ambient sounds, well I have one for you if you're interested.
I totally forgot about it but hearing the birds chirping reminded me.
The combined sound of cars driving in the rain/on a wet road and you running along beside them.
Every step, the kind of hissing sound wavers and changes in pitch as you bob under and above it,if you get me?
