ILIKEAcid, I liked your track Tea Party. Sounds like you are getting it more professional sounding. I thought the intro section didn't sound as polished as next part (1:34). I feel that part at 2:35 is lacking something to give it some more atmosphere. It's awesome when the hats come in though. I really liked the peak of the song when you return to that earlier part.

Thanks a lot mate, yeah I did the entire thing myself, all vocals and lyrics, production, and mixing. I had it mastered professionally though, to get that last 3% out of it.
You might benefit from using another program as well, you use FL studio right? For example I use reason in conjunction with Pro Tools. I generally mix and EQ everything in Protools. Or even use a free program like Reaper. You could bounce each element of your song as a individual track into protools and treat it that way. Give you more control of it.

I really liked that. Great atmosphere, nice and heavy, dark sound, cool rhythms. Sounded like a metal influence in there. What program do you use? I thought production wise it could be a bit sharper, have some sharper edges to those drums and bass. You could vary up the bass sound with a filter or something. Also the bass sounded a bit like a generic midi noise. I love when the the soft sounding piano sound comes in. Had a nice flow to the song, kept me interested. Overall I really enjoyed it.

I actually liked the drums. I mean the main bass sound of the song, the rising one was good. Play around with effects and EQ different parts of the song to give it dynamics. Just push yourself to the limit and you'll wonder how the fuck you created what you did.

You're really tightening your sound up. It sounds massive. I love the squelchy bass and flappy percussion. And that end bit is cool, I actually would have liked if it went even longer and crazy on that last riff. I would love to hear you work with a female vocalist.

Smooth, bouncy groove played by a rock band, positively aggressive chorus and a sky high climax.

I listened to your track. I like the spacious production and the flow of the song. There are some nice guitar parts and the song has it's own sense of flow. The feel of it reminds me of Joy Division. For constructive criticism, it sounds to me like sometimes you're trying to sound like Maynard.
Here is a track of mine from a few months ago. My own opinion of my track is the production could sound a lot bigger, and a real drummer would benefit. I like the sound of my voice and the flow of the song, and the climax. I no longer enjoy listening to it though, because there's nothing new for me to discover. I've played it live heaps of times have made much more music since this one.

Loving all the guitar and drums stuff guys. I lurk this thread a lot

I'm listening to your track Masked. Your guitar playing is tight, and I'd like to hear it better recorded. It does sound quite Tooley to me in parts, which is good or bad depending on what your going for. Personally I like to make my music sound like its own thing, even if it's influenced by other things.

Do you use any kind of DAW? (digital audio workstation). You could get one and let your imagination run wild. I use Reason 8 and have used Pro Tools in the past. I started properly recording my own stuff mid 2013, but I've made music on computers since I was 12.

Yeah send the wave. Dropbox?
I haven't heard of that program, but you want to use EQ and compression to make it sound clearer.

EQ - Well, you want to make the sound how you want it. For example, the one you posted from 2005 sounds muffled and blurry. So you would find the frequencies that are making it sound the worst and turn them down. Then, you could boost some hi end to give it some clarity and sparkle.
Compression - makes the quite bits louder and the loud bits quieter. Literally compresses the sound. It's good for getting everything sitting nicely and not having unwanted volume spikes Then the different settings on the compressor are basically how intense that is, and how fast it kicks in + cuts out.
