Downtempo/trip hop for your ears...spent a lot of time mixing this, hope you dig.

I like it, I can definitely just let it play in the background. Makes me want to get up and groove. Love the organic feel of it all. Crazy sound effects at the end haha. Something a little different for sure.

UFU, I dig your stuff. Very ambient. Sounds a lot like a darker Boards Of Canada jam or something to that effect. Love the heart throbbing sounds that come in near-ish the end...very meditative and settling. enjoyable for sure.
Here is a set of 4 songs that my band (Politishen and myself) made. the EP will be 6 songs and we are getting it pressed on vinyl, sent to all digital distributors, and sold via physical CD copies as well. http://soundcloud.com/eyelight/sets/eyelight/

You should message me some info on Symbiosis, never heard of it...and if you're in Boise, you're definitely closer to our neck of the woods than most so that should be a stop on our journeys.
ahhh somafm! I should definitely hit them up thanks for reminding me.
Your compliments are greatly appreciated, thank you.

I like this one...really mellow and vibey. I would call it a chillout piece, IDM generally has a stronger kick in my opinion...semantics though. The super cutoff percussive sample thing you have on top is clutch man...really creates a stuttery vibe. If I were tripping it might slow the FPS of my retinas haha...

You know I dig your stuff. Off the wall. Strong production. You really are one of the few rock artists I hear really imbibing the shamanistic feel. The artists you've mentioned to me as influences don't really do it justice...so congrats you have made yourself unique to my ears at least!
I uploaded a new piece of my own that I am releasing on my soundcloud tomorrow...finally learned how to successfully map all 4 midi controllers with effects and samples and whatnot so my production quality jumped up a bit over the last 24 hours haha. This one is a much more vibey chilled out future club style tune. Hope you guys enjoy.

Super chilled out though, not hip hop in the slightest. A mix of slight house mixed with experimental pop along the lines of Toro Y Moi or a mellowed out version of Grimes. Instrumental only, I really need to work with a female vocalist...then my tracks will GROW! No pun intended... http://soundcloud.com/thephilosofist/yearning-pothos
Won't play for me... dammit.

you can use pretty much any DAW to do anything...fruity loops is still very capable. but yes ableton is easier to use for live performing and the sampling/waveform editing is superior in some ways. I personally use logic, I have used ableton but I find the GUI of logic to be a bit superior when it comes to multi-track recording and mixing... on a separate note, I released a free EP with net label housefly records, you can stream the full 15 minutes here: http://thephilosofist.bandcamp.com/album/aural-static-ep and download free via www.houseflyrecords.eu

Pop-sensible future indie soundscapes. Hazy collage of beats and a cloud of vocal samples in the hook. Hope you guys are uplifted by the sounds!

fish, that was tight as fuck. you should make that into a full song.
ilikeacid, it's cool. i like the vocal effects. I wish the bass were a little groovier with the oscillations. smooths out around 2:06 i feel that. i can vibe to it all though for sure, respect.
here's a remix of tha alkaholics for the hip hop heads...jazztrip

Doprah that is amazing music. Holy crap. Wish the vox weren't so overproduced...maybe a little flanger effect here and there for trippiness but the autotune is a bit much for me. Opinions
But wow, killer mixing. I downloaded and will definitely have it in certain playlists.

Little indie/house groove. I made it for Valentine's day, but decided to hold off until I mastered it well enough for release. Still not 100% ideal but I'm always learning.

Head noddy j dilla-esque drums, vox samples chopped from "On and On" by Eyrkah Badu. Low, deep bass.

Woodgrain -- the best I've made so far and I'm pretty happy with it. samples from fear and loathing movie and waking life. first time using all hardware (mpc, e-mu vintage synths, and a microkorg).

Doprah, man that is tight!!!! Love those drums.
My latest instrumental composition...would love to incoporate vox like doprah did, but alas...female singers who understand the music I want to create are hard to come by it seems...
