Well, It could be a thread that could eventually turn into revenue for the forum. Compile the best of and add something to make it worthwhile to buy the CD rather than just DL stuff. The thread could be an on going thing with limitless amounts of songs available for free DL but the CD would be cool to have as well. Honestly, I don't know why it would be cool, it just seems like a good idea.
Something that might make it worthwhile to buy the CD is artwork or a supporter account for a while. Maybe more people would become supporters that way, buy a CD and receive a next to your SN.

dazzy dukes brahs. I started a dazzey duks thread in OTD earlier cuz these fuckers were cracking me up, but I just "finished" a remix of their hit single. so i'm gonna post it here. :P
my parents know I collect goofy old cassettes, so they picked this (and some other stuff) up for me at a thrift store and mailed it to me. I sure do like my folks.

for fans of breakcore (i use the term lightly here) and noisy electro stuff.
ps: any advice on producing this kind of shit would be really helpful!

A brand new Yamaha DTX-V2 set, a digital monitor, new headphones, sort of minor stuff over that. But the DTX-V2 is the big deal.
Our new recording setup is completely virtual/digital, which is cool because our recording space isn't sound proofed.
here it is:
Tascam DP-02 (Digital 8-track) Berrhinger Eurorack 2004a (16 channel mixer) Yamaha DTX-V2 Digital Drum set Line-6 Spider 2 amp (pawn shop gear, FTW! ) 4 CAD mics, for vocal use (though we usually just plug them in to the mixer and use them for ambience and natural reverb.)
Plus new cables, and Audiotechnica Headphones!
I also built a new axe from spare parts I had, so now I have a little better tone control than before:

mmmmmm 2 vintage strat pick-ups, and Gibson '57 classic... LP neck profile, grover tuners, + the comfort of a strat style body...

Nice tune, Sunny!
Here's an electronic/chip/funk track...
(I could really use some advice/thoughts on this one - it takes about 40 seconds to get moving)
It's based on the feeling I'd be likely to get from riding one of these

Rich Whiskey / Doc Tronic - OABFP (click to download)
Hot new shit! Just finished this split EP w/ a buddy of mine from California a few days ago. My stuff (Rich Whiskey) has been described as "electrobilly." Doc Tronic is some sampledelic hip hop gone robotic, with sexy results. The whole thing only runs about 20 minutes, hope you dig it. I attached one of my tracks to the post so ya don't have to walk into the download totally blind.

Straight to the Lukeyboots folder. How many aliases do you have?
I hope that track's name is what I think it is.

Are you doing more with the Sharptooth name? Your full length has been in constant rotation along with Caribou's SWIM and others for several weeks and I have not tired of it.

I have a lot of aliases! The list is always growing.
That song title was indeed inspired by paradis, haha. As was the initial "When I woke up this mo'nin" in On The House (from an OTD thread he started w/ lyrics I could use). I was honestly trying to play the song I had arranged for his lyrics but it wasn't working out. One of the stipulations of writing Rich Whiskey tracks was that I had to be pretty bombed on Rich Whiskey... so you see what happened there.

Yeah man I want to do more with the Sharptooth name, just gotta figure out what! That is a damn nice compliment, I'm glad you are enjoying that album. If you're interested in adding a little bit more to that lukeboots folder, I posted a recent collection of ideas/tracks here: http://dinosaurthoughts.blogspot.com; As for Rich Whiskey, I think that name is going to be releasing a song-for-song cover album of The Return of Roger Miller. I've been wanting to tackle that project for a while, and now I have a name and (sort of) a style to work with.
And thanks for the kind words, seriously! It's great to hear feedback of any sorts, but positive feedback really makes me want to keep writing.
