Jars drying out

A few days ago I pressure cooked my jars (rye berry jars), and I've been waiting till I get my syringes to inoculate.
Well I just got my syringes yesterday, and I was planning on shooting them up today. However, when I checked my jars today they looked rather dry. By this i mean the rye grains inside looked that pale color that showed they had little moisture in them.
When I made the jars, i simmered the rye for a while, and then rinsed it several times. I figured that all this water being added to the grains would be enough, but now it seems like a few days later the jars have gone dry!!
So...I'm thinking about boiling some water again and just pouring a little bit in each of my jars before I inoculate (I'd let it cool off a bit first obviously). But I'm worried that the same thing might happen again. I don't really feel like getting a humidifier for my closet....but I'm sure the rH is relatively low, probably in between 20-30; I was hoping the jars would contain their own humidity. It took about 4-5 days for the jars to dry out.
Should I worry about getting a humidifier? Or do you think just adding water to the jars again will be good enough?

If you have the correct size holes in your lids(1/16" to 1/8"), the grains won't dry out for at least a month.
Properly hydrated grains will 'look' dry. The moisture is inside the kernels. RR

Hmm....alright well that is very reassuring RR! Thank you.
So do you think adding more water to the jars before I inoculate would actually be harmful then? Or would the extra humidity be conducive to faster colonization?

just inoculate them. If you add more water it will more than likely just be standing water in your jar. when you squirt some spores in the jar that will add a lil bit of moisture. honestly i have had jars look pretty dry but colonized fine. like RR said the moisture is inside the grains. I woudnt mess with it though.

I shot up some jars last saturday, today is day four. I don't see any signs of a anything on my cambodians, but my black poplar liquid culters have started to spread. Any ideas? I only waited about two hours after pc'ng my first jars, so they felt warm to the touch, but just warm. Unfortunatly, it was before I read about letting jars cool for 12 hours, so am i fucked? The black poplars were knocked up at the same time, and they're doing fine... but there was mycelium in the black poplar syringe... But no my rye looks sorta dry, the top ones look sorta silvery. I can see the moisture inside of them, but will the spores germinate if the skins of the berries are dry?

Those jars I shot up in that post up there are about 50% colonized now. But I didn't see any growth until about 5 days after I inoculated. So wait a while longer, I wouldn't give up on them for at least 2 weeks. You never know man. My rye looked dry too but it turned ok, and I'm actually seeing condensation on the sides of my jars.
Heres some jar porn.
