I had been told from other views and FAQ's thatyou should fruit when the jars are fully colonized, I have also heard when it starts pinning? What is the best approach for a first timer like me? ALso I was told that you should start letting your jars see some light of some kind when its about 50% colonized in the jar? is that a correct method? Also is the need for a hygrometer a big deal, I was thinking that its worth it to buy one, rather be safe then sorry am i right?

 You wrong and uneducated.  Im saying this because I know you. You do expose them to light at 50% to initiate pinning. Is it necessary to get pins before birth? No, its self preference. And you do fruit them when they are fully colonized. Wait 1 week after 100% surface colonization to dunk. Stop asking dumb questions, you re an apprentice, so read the FAQ or talk to me directly. Cheap hygrometers dont work. Like what everyone says FAQ

ok. and you dont have to be such an asshole mr know it all. dont let this prick get you down. there are people here that actually want to help as opposed to belittle people.
if you can let the jars colonize 100%. If not birth them and sterilize a knife and scrape the uncolonized part away. the jars dont need light untill they are birthed from my experience but im sure it wouldn't hurt if they always get light. this hobby is a lot about experimentation. if you are curious about something try it. go ahead and buy a hygrometer if you can spare the money. i dont have one and i do just fine but im sure i would do better if i had one. just use common sense.
