Tomorrows breakfast, Amanita muscaria var. guessowii

I'll be preparing the Amanita muscaria var. guessowii by cutting them in thin slices and boiling them in 3 changes of slightly salted water for 5 minutes each time. This will remove the unneeded ibotenic acid and muscimol.
Then i'll fry the mushrooms up and add eggs.

Nice tip, mushrooms and photos, WS. I never knew this. Now I'm half-tempted to try it.

I've read of A. muscaria being a choice edible before, but I half dismissed it a fancy. Seems I was wrong. Those are gorgeous specimens by the way.

I would think muscarias would taste good, ive tried 2 species of amanita and they both taste almost identical, A. jacksonii and A. rubescens
