for example
http://www.decuisine.co.uk/cookshop/cookware/bamboo-steamers.html
fantastic way to cook veggies, fish etc. The healthiest way to cook food as it destroys far less of the nutrients or minerals than frying/boiling etc You fill the wok up about a third with boiling water, put the steamer in, put the food inside and the steam cooks the food. also very quick
you can do a lot of great chinese food with a steamer if ur into that.

Wow that's crazy - I didn't know you could steam meat!
I'll probably end up getting one since right now my steam mechanism is setting a strainer above a pot of boiling water. It works alright.

Serious question for those who have seasoned cast-iron woks & use them: How do you clean them without taking off the seasoning?
I just used my wok for the first time tonight and it rocked!! but while cleaning I took off some of the seasoning. I used a scotch-brite pad since the seasoning seemed pretty thick/solid so I'm not sure what do use next time. What will get the gunk off, but keep the seasoning?

I wash my cast iron cook ware with dawn soap.(they use it on birds to get the oil off of them, it cant be that bad)Then put it back on the stove and heat it up.This will dry it out. After its cooled put a small amount of cooking oil and with a paper towl. Wipe the whole pan with a lite amount of oil...

Oh man, I need to get a cast iron wok. I heard you should never use soap or water on cast iron. I have an old iron skillet tho that I use a lot. It was passed down from my mom's mom. I just heat up some Crisco at high heat until it smokes and then dump it out and keep wiping it out with a clean cloth. Then I add some olive oil and heat it up a bit and then repeat the process. It can take several cycles of this if it is really dirty.

After reading all this I finally realized how much I miss my wok! We recently moved to an all electric house and it makes me sad.
Looks like it's time to get another one and try that turkey burner method!
