Found on a hiking trail that runs along side a river,in SW Pennsylvania.Found growing right from the ground, not on wood.
Cap: Caramel color,slimy,thick.
Stem: Thick, white, blue bruising.Ring present on some of them.
Gills:Some white, and some purple- brown, crowded.
No habitat shots, didn't have a camera with me at the time.

Wow that is a really beautiful find. I don't have many actives in my area but ovoids are one of them. I've been looking for them for a while, not much luck though. Good job!

I've been picking ovoids for almost 4 years and those dont look like em. I could be wrong because of the many variations of ovoids. Send some gill fragments out to workman. I bet he will enjoy. Jair check your pms.

What color was the sporeprint? What did the ground look like where you picked them? They kinda look like a cross between a jack o lantern and a psilocybe. Did it have a pellicle? Very cool find!

Workman can have some gill fragments,so can Alan.I was very satisfied with both of they're work. These were found on a new trail Ive been scoping for some time,it runs about 50 yds from the river with farmland surrounding both sides of the river. Not you typical ovoid habitat, was not much foliage or wood debris that i could see,and not very well shaded. The mushrooms were growing right from the ground, very rich, moist black soil.Spore print-purple/brown, pellicle, yes.
