how big should a terrium be that is going to house 10 cakes...the one im using as of right now allows the cakes at least one inch of room on all sides but is only 7 inches tall...do i need a bigger one?

If the cakes all fit, then you obviously DONT need a bigger one. The only issues you have to worry about is the shooms growing up and into the lid. You probably want to have more frequent air exchange since by volume, there is less oxygen available at one time.

You didn't read his post very well.  :smirk:

He said he only has 1" in between his cakes.

He should have  3" between each cake.

And its only 7" tall.....hope you are growing migets.  :grin:

You didn't read my post very well. You don't have to have 3 inches between the cakes, but having them closer makes them compete for the surrounding available oxygen. That's why I mentioned more frequent air exchanges.

Why force them to compete , why not provide them with ample space air etc ......... so all grow up tp be big and strong .
More space means more room to grow instead of coliding and twisting together , also allows you more room to reach inbetween to harvest . I have pretty big hands , if only 1 inch apart , there would be a lot of fallen cakes in my case . :cool:

i agree with roadie. why make them compete. i would say, though, that if you need room for a bunch of cakes, you should case 'em. thats just my opinion, though.
