First ayahuasca brew was a disaster!

Tried to make my first ayahuasca brew the other day and it was a disaster. I'm using syrian rue seeds and MH root bark btw. (don't want any bullshit replies about how this is not true ayahuasca cause I didn't use caapri, it's an MAOI+DMT, close enough).
Anyway, I couldn't get the syrian rue seeds into powder. Trying to do this without having to buy a coffee grinder. I tried to smash them with a hammer, these are tough seeds, it didn't work.
Tried putting them into a pepper grinder. The seeds are so fine they just fell through. So I decided to let the seeds soak in a 500mg Vit C + water solution 4 a few hours. Me and my friend drank the water and the seeds (we tried to chew them for a second, it was just so bitter we couldn't do it). We ended up swallowing all the seeds in hopes it would work.
As far the the MH root bark tea goes, I shredded the bark as fine as I possibly could by hand and did 2 extractions, boiling the bark in a 1000mg Vit C + water solution.
I pre-filtered this tea through panty hose and then tried to filter it again through coffe filters. The coffee filters got so clogged with sediment after I had poured just a few ounces through it that it would literally stop dripping after 15 seconds or so.
I would get maybe 1oz of filtered tea before the coffee filter would clog. I spent well over an hour filtering this shit through coffee filters (60+ coffee filters!) before I filtered all of it. Even at that point the tea was exteremly dark and obviously not filtered well enough.
My friend and I took this shit and felt nothing more than a body and head buzz, a "zoning" type of feeling, and some confusion.
I know I need to powder the seeds, how do you do this?
I know if you don't want to puke your guts out you need 2 filter the tea well but how do you do that? (60+ coffee filters didn't do that).

the easiest way i have found is to put the seeds in a blender with a little water and blend, this should take about 30 seconds,if you dont have a blender you can put the dry seeds in a dry pan and heat them until they start popping, then transfer them to a pestle and mortar and they should crush very easy, but to be honest with you i have found that i can make rue tea in half an hour without even crushing them, still works fine. as for the mimosa, was it premium or standard because theirs a big difference in dose with the two.with the mimosa i would always recommend three pulls of three litters water and 90ml apple cider or white wine vinegar no vitamin c tabs as they dont boil away and make you feel sick. you dont have to go with any fancy techs, rue and mimosa is a very easy combination to make, keep it simple and spend a long time brewing and filtering your mimosa and there really shouldn't be any problems.

Man, ditch those seeds! They are nothing like b. caapi.
But if you must I would highly recommend a coffee grinder or blender of sorts. You can always just take the grinded down seeds whole in a gel cap. They will still be a little bit rough on your stomach, but I have done this and it didn't result in violent vomiting, or vomiting at all.
Ayahuasca is a very powerful thing BTW. Have patience with your brew. Your going to have to break down the plant material. Brew slowly (with a squirt of lemon juice), just barely simmering, for several hours. Filtering can be fustrating, so place it in the fridge overnight, and decant. Adove all, respect the brew! It can be overwhelmingly powerful. The brew lives up to the myths... there is a reason people take seemingly pointless steps in order to brew in the most honerable, and respectful fashion.
Good luck to you bro...

If done correctly, you ought to be puking your guts out anyway.. it's a very powerful and essential aspect of the yage experience.

use a simple bit of cloth or tshirt for straining,it may take a while but its better than using 60 coffee filters, and if you use a big enough bit of cloth you can keep moving it about to let the brew fall thru it quicker, your going to end up with a bit of sediment in your brew no matter what you do(unless of course you go for a slow two day filter thru cotton buds, but honestly if you want to drink aya the best thing you can do is get used to a bit of sediment.
one of the main things that will make you sick apart from tannins is down to what you use to drop the ph,don't use vitamin c tabs, lemon juice or anything like that or you will end up with a brew thats very hard to hold down, apple cider or white wine vinegar will evaporate with the water, these are the tried and trusted for a brew that is much easyer to hold down.

ps you could also do an eggwhite tech on your final brew before you start reducing it,this will get rid of a fair amount of tannins and sediment.....just google eggwhite tech or check out aya.com

ok i didnt read jack shit of this. im like blah blah blah
any who. try eating 1.5g rue raw full seeds then 3g of rue in the brew, then mimosa 12g brew for 20 min at a time stiring puting love in it, stirring it then strain, add more water and do it like 3 times its really unneeded but it gives people a start. pour it all back together then drink. if it aint working maybe you really cant heal yourself well and need someone to properly pass it down to you. with it really its about passing it on

12G of mimosa + 3.5G of rue, 3 washes, 1 hour per each wash. Filter it through a clean t-shirt instead of coffee filter should work much better, do the egg white tek, then leave it in the fridge overnight. Drink the clean part of the brew next day, you should be set, be ready to puke and shit your guts out, its not a fun experience, but its well worth it.

sounds like you just need to go to wal-mart and get a $10 blender.
