Need help finding Microsoft Office
    #8985277 - 09/25/08 04:28 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

Well I downloaded a torrent of Microsoft Office, except it gave me a fucking virus and I had to system restore.  Does anybody know of a legit torrent that I can get it from?  My comp class mostly uses Word and I only have works.

Think you could get away with openoffice?  It is free.  or is it a class that you specifically have to have Microsoft Office?

Ever consider OpenOffice?

It's a pretty good alternative.  It's more or less an exact clone of Microsoft Office.  You can even save your files in Office formats, allowing you to work back and forth between OpenOffice at home and Microsoft at say school or work.

lol  Ogre812 beat me to it.

Granted it doesn't look as good but you get most of the same shit.

There is also an openoffice portable that you can load onto a flash drive and take it with you anywhere.

yep, their is a free solution, use it.

If you need generic word processing abilities use open office.

I don't think they have spreadsheets do they?  And I'll be damned if I'm going to try and learn a new language for that shit after somewhat- getting excel to do what I want.

But to answer your original question, download torrent, scan with virus scanner.  Open any archives (which you shouldn't be downloading in anyways, but whatever) scan those, then install while running a virus monitoring thingy.

Hasn't failed me yet.

Thought I was going to have to lock a thread with "this isn't a warez site!" ... thanks for giving a good answer!

I use open office as well and recommend it in place of Microsoft's crap.

If you can't outwit a virus you got from an illegal download, you don't deserve the illegal download.
