Threshold Doses of Psilocybin to Induce Greater Attentiveness

I'm a college student, and as such am very interested in ways to remain attentive during class. I frequently find myself falling asleep, and being inattentive. I have a family history of ADD and ADHD (my sister and father are currently prescribed Adderall); I have used Adderall on many occasions very successfully. However, as a college student, I feel that it would be extremely difficult to now become prescribed to an amphetamine since most students use the drug for recreational and academic purposes. I have a hard time believing I'd be able to be issued an Adderall prescription at this point in my life.
For the time being, caffeine has been my saving grace. I drink coffee and soda like it's my job. I hate it though, and am always left tired without my doses of caffeine.
Thus, I developed the following idea: I have had many experiences eating mushrooms in doses ranging from 1.7g to 4.1g. I find that I am highly competent and functional when in the 1.5g-2g range. I am able to not only think extremely fluidly, but am able to express myself linguistically much better than normal. Not only do I find that I am sharper mentally, but I find my sensory abilities to be much more acute. I have never seen the world the same since my first experience with psilocybin (in both a mental and physical sense). I feel as if my visual perceptual abilities have been permanently enhanced. Instead of seeing a tree blowing in the wind, I now see every individual leaf, branch, and all of their movements; also, their colors are more pronounced. This is a change that has lasted over a year and half since my first encounter with mushrooms.
I have read (and am currently re-reading) Food of the Gods by Terence McKenna. In this book, McKenna outlines his theory that the rapid evolution of the human brain (and ultimately consciousness) can be attributed to the consumption of psilocybin-containing mushrooms on the African grasslands. He claims that the combination of cattle domestication and the assumption of an omnivorous diet could provide for the ingestion of mushrooms in small doses during hunts for food. His contention is that these small doses of mushrooms would help to heighten the primitive humans' visual abilities (notably, edge detection), as well as those of an olfactory and auditory nature. These artificial enhancements would provide for a greater hunting ability, and ultimately the genes that are more conducive to this new lifestyle.
McKenna cites a 1960's study in which Roland Fischer administered small amounts of psilocybin to graduate students, and reported that one's ability to detect the moment when a pair of parallel lines becomes skewed was significantly improved as a result of these small doses.
So, with this in mind, how do you think one could be affected positively (or negatively) by the daily ingestion of a threshold dose of psilocybin? I know many different factors may come into play (namely, tolerance). If doses are not being taken to achieve a full blown mental trip, would the physiological impacts still be felt, consciously or unconsciously? Does anyone have any experience with taking mushrooms in this manner for this purpose or any other related reason?
Obviously, if one were to undergo such a treatment, he/she would need to have a constant supply of mushrooms available for consumption. A number of other considerations would also have to be accounted for.
But what say ye as to the validity of this idea? Does this hold any water?
I'm interested in seeing what you all have to say.

I think small threshhold doses of LSD would work better. It has a longer effect, and keeps you more alert than mushrooms would. Not saying mushrooms don't have this effect, but correct me if I'm wrong, I think LSD (at threshhold doses) has an extremely stimulating effect when compared to threshhold doses of psilocybin. In fact, when I've been under the influence of a small dose, it seems like psilocybin has actually a mild sedating effect at low doses IME (i.e. I tend to want to yawn more, stretch, lay out, but I wouldn't fall asleep).
I would probably suggest you just take adderall though...someone at your school is bound to have a script that they don't mind selling you some pillzz at $3 a pop.

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter." --Max Planck

i agree with this statement. taking small doses of shrooms daily won't last very long. the doses will be getting bigger and bigger until eventually it get's ridiculous.
