no i didn't know that i just stumbled upon the quote. I thought it was hilarious!
"In my house, being raised with a sister and three brothers, there was an absolute – it was a nuclear sanction, if under any circumstances, for any reason, no matter how justified, even self-defense – if you ever touched your sister, not figuratively, literally. My sister, who is my best friend, my campaign manager, my confidante, grew up with absolute impunity in our household… And I have the bruises to prove it. I mean that sincerely. I am not exaggerating when I say that.”

Biden is seriously the worst kind of politician. How Obama got this guy, I'll never know.
At least obama's message and history is vacuous enough that it can be denied or molded to fit your own desires, Biden is a stone-cold ass through and through.
I love his stance on coal.
Really, what do these nuts want to do for power? Seriously now? When did the democrats go off the deep end with this clean energy stuff? I don't remember them being like this when I was in high school.
Biden should stick to what he knows best: being the prison industry's best friend, and enemy to all who would like to be able to make their own economic, personal, and energy choices without checking with the president (commerce clause be damned). I seriously hope that man gets the heart attack they keep predicting for McCain. I'd rather take 8 years of McCain than even a chance of having Biden have anything to do with the executive office of the USA.
I really don't know waht this guy's talking about.
Did Biden just think the stock market crashed and we got the new deal the next day? Shit doesn't work that way, as he should know. And I'll leave the television comment alone. It makes sense that Biden is promoting the new deal crap that forever changed our constitution and empowered the federal government to invade every nook and cranny of our lives, sewing circles included to quote lonestar's avatar's comment.

And here I thought everybody would give Biden the benefit of the doubt for the same reason... and scrutinize everything Palin says, well, for the opposite reason. Silly me.

Barack Obama pledges on his website that his administration will:
Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology. Obama’s Department of Energy will enter into public private partnerships to develop five “first-of-a-kind” commercial scale coal-fired plants with clean carbon capture and sequestration technology
But in Ohio, Biden was asked by a voter: "Wind and solar are flourishing here in Ohio, so why are you supporting clean coal?"
Biden replied: "We're not supporting 'clean coal.' Guess what. China's building two every week. Two dirty coal plants. And it's polluting the United States. It's causing people to die. ... China is burning three hundred years of bad coal unless we figure out how to clean their coal up. Because it's going to ruin your lungs and there's nothing we can do about it. No coal plants here in America. Build them, if they're going to build them over there make 'em clean because they're killing you."
I wonder how long before Obama just tells him to shut the fuck up!

What's wrong with smears lies and hatred? Should we not attack people that have bad ideas or bad policy proposals?
I think its revealing that the VP has what is in my opinion at once an incredibly stupid energy goal (what is it, no coal? We all run off flower power?) and has no apparent idea what his platform is supposed to be.
People often bemoan the lack of substantive anything in politicians proposals and their failure to answer questions directly. Here we have a bit of that, but a lot of a contradictory message.
What is your frustration in general? I don't understand why you wouldn't like smears lies and hatred.
Get the truth out man. It is disconcerting that some folks hang their choice on stupid issues such as substanceless smears (obama and ayers, palin and the trooper boss thing, et cet) but whatever. That's democracy.

*Yawn*
Anyone who has been in public life as long as Biden will make his share of gaffes. Reagan sure made his share but is well-regarded years later. This is stupid, election-year stuff.
The same people pushing this were probably also defending Dan Quayle.
Election years.
They don't call it the "Silly Season" for nothing.

Nope. It's just simple ignorance. There is a difference.
I imagine if you took a poll many, if not most, Americans would make the same mistake about an irrelevant historical detail such as this.
