Pics of my grow set up

I am still fine tuning but after a few weeks of trial and error I have humidity at ~100%, good airflow and no mold growing in a very wet chamber. I am very happy but have a few questions and am very open to improvement ideas.
In the pics you can see two BRF cakes that dont seem to be doing much at all. Not sure if I birthed them to early or I am doing something wrong. Been in there for a week while fine tuning the humidity.
The ultrasonic is set for 15min on/off. The impeller is on 24/7 at high setting.
I have a few more BRF that will be birthed in the next few days and more next week. I also have 20+ jars both large and small of WBS that will be used with straw and maybe horse poo in bins for bulk growing.
on to the pics and thanks for looking.

Hey that's actually pretty cool. But y'know, a tub with perlite could have done the trick

did the perlite first and it did work great but I am in the proses of trying bulk WBS and disassemble the perlite tank. While between BRF and WBS I still have some BFR cakes that i am putting in this new cab. I usually see nice white fussy mycelium growing on perlite tek and mushrooms starting to pin/grow within a few days but not so with this cab.

I think something is wrong in my chamber. Here is a pic of a little guy that started to grow but has done nothing for 2 days. All I can think of is low moisture but I have ~100% humidity. I can see moisture on the white rack they sit on.
I have put them on some perlite since that was worked before but They are not in a small box like before.
Here is a pic with a ruler in mm.

I would suggest you go back to the tried and true shotgun chamber. Your set-up is way overdone for 2 cakes, and it's a fire hazard. You have the timers, lights, and extension cords inside your fruiting chamber. A place with high humidity and moisture. Bad idea.

that is an awesome set up, but i agree it is a potential fire hazard... the good: there is a ton of room in that thing! totally self contained discrete
the bad: fire hazard.. use a 1/2 inch hole saw and run the electrical outside of the box. move the light out too. put it on top and make a glass/plastic port that the light shines through space management.. get more shelf space! that could be a goldmine!
over all its an awesome idea, just some minor design flaws.

I would also line it with some kind of plastic sheets, I see some exposed wood that may harbor contams in the future. That wouldn't be cool.

I plan on wrapping the pvc shelves in plastic soon. Thanks for the idea. I looked the archive some more and found some great ideas and can't wait to try them out in 4 days when I have some time. Till then I might put my shotgun chamber back into commission.
I am aware it is overkill for my 2 cakes. If you read my first post you can see I have over 20 jars of WBS that will be mixed with straw and poo for bulk. I am using these brf cakes to test my chamber out and they are not performing well at all so I am worried about when I do my bulk grow.
I did some reading and thought I would just have to wait as sometimes cakes can take a long time to start pinning but I found a cake with a mushie growing and then it stopped. From what I have read this is do to low moisture but I have ~100%. Even calibrated my hydrometer.
I waited longer for my other 3 jars and they started pinning in the jar so I birthed them and soaked for ~6 hours. They are now in the chamber with the others.
I will wrap in plastic and reduce airflow as it is above optimal. My first thought was to much airflow can't be bad when at ~100% moisture but I will just have to try some things out. I was hopping some of you smart people with experience could help me out.
The reason I am using this box is because its completely sound and light proof. I had a few plants growing in there a year ago. I can't just go and cut a hole for the power. I will wrap in plastic and run power cords out of the plastic.

The good : Great setup! Lots of room! Good humidity and FAE!
The worries : Do you regulate the temp in there? Maybe the high airflow cools off the cakes too much?
Also I might see this becoming a mold trap in the weeks/months/years to come as it seems made of wood, which will eventually soak up that 100% RH and start getting all moldy and stuff...
Just my 2cents
Good luck with your bulk!

I will put in plastic as soon as I can, and even then over the year the wood will soak it up. I work with what I have.
I am glad you mentions temp as it gets very cold at night. I would say around 55F most of the time and sometimes down to 40F.
I thought mushrooms would still grow at these low temps, just slowly.

It's good to see people being innovative, admirable, but I would definitely go back to the Shotgun FC, you seem to be just complicating things for yourself.
Good luck, happy growing!

why exactly can't you cut a few small holes run your wires out then seal the holes.less of a chance for fire

It's just too big for two cakes. Not really a good test for any large amount of substrate you are going to eventually be putting in there. There is bluing on those pix of the cakes. This means that the cakes are drying out. The amount of air introduced isn't at the 100% needed for bare cakes. When you put large substrates in there, they will displace the space that you need to hydrate. Not to mention they will be contained and evaporation will be limited. 6 hours dunk is not sufficient for a dunk of cakes. They don't even really start absorbing water until about that time. 24 hours is more of the time frame you want for cakes. Automation is overrated imho. AUTO stands for Always Under Tremendous Observation, ime.

It might be a cool spot to stash your chamber though, so it isn't easy to see. Set up a small fan in it?

Like someone else above said you should check the temperature.
