I have the orginal zelda theme as played on the nintindo. I also have a version of it done by a full symphony... it's cool to play them back to back.

hehe, Ragga, i remember always getting my ass kicked by them LPB's, then one time at like 2 in the morning, i was still trippin on some geltabs and i loaded up Quake, and found myself 1v1'ing this really good LPB i had seen around the servers. i didn't really kick his ass but i was actually making him struggle he was like "who the fuck are you?? no HPB has ever owned me like this" acid definately helps your hand eye reflexes if you get 'in the zone' also helps when you feel like you're actually inside the game, you play alot more carefully.
i was addicted to Ultima Online for about a year or so... it was my life. i played it like 12 hours a day. Whenever i wasnt playing i thought about what was going on in the ultima world. in my opinion, it is very similar to a drug addiction.
anyone ever played Earthbound? a snes rpg, i fell in love with that world... and Illusion of Gaia.. magical
same with the Zelda's
i remember dosing and playing FF9.. i was peaking while adventuring into this giant tree in the game. it was so f'n trippy.. riding down the spiral of roots, green eminating all around me..
damn Cyber, you beat my old school-edness with doom i know how you feel though, the first time i played Quake online, I was just like holy shit! thats a real person controlling that guy! *BAM* shit!
ahaha... Quake3 on a few red gellies... jumpin around in space in a railgun war... fun!
Mr_mushrooms, do you mean ULTIMATE PRO VIRTUAL CHECKERS v2.0 ??? or SUPER CHECKER LEAGUE ZOMBIE SQUAD ELITE?????

Hey! That's about enough out of you!
I had considered the appropriateness of this thread but there is a slight connection so I didn't say anything.
I hope that explanation is satistactory for you.

Ah, video games! one could play one's life away, no? and with the assistance of drugs one can literally occupy oneself to death! what is the point of life if you are just going to amuse yourself to death?

Why watch TV? Why come on the internet? Video games can provide an escape for some, a way to relax, or simply for entertainment. Of course anything in excess can be detrimental to your well-being, the key is moderation. They are fodder for the imagination.

Sclorch, I find some videogames spiritual in a way. they are happy memories of other worlds, and make me look at my world in fresh different ways sometimes. other times they make me sick in the head.

old-school lucas arts adventure games were great: maniac mansion, day of the tentacle, monkey island, indiana jones and the fate of atlantis, sam & max, yadaya... other puzzle games like myst or 7th guest... of course zelda for nintendo was a classic and all those rpgs bring back nostalgia, although in retrospect they're kindah silly soap-operas that don't do it for me like a good sci-fi/fantasy book, but as a kid...... and whoever mentioned sephiroth as hot, oh yah..... i wish i had long silver hair... :P

Does anybody remember the reletively obscure game EVO:Evolution for SNES? I think I played that game for like 14 hours straight when I was 10. In the game you start out as a lowly sea creature. You got points by eating other animals and with those points you could buy new body parts like improved fins or teeth or a spike tail or something. There were literally thousands of combinations. As you progressed through the game you went from a fish,to a reptile,to a dinosaur, to a mammal, and finally to a human.I wish they made a new version of that game, but it never caught on.That game taught me more about biology than I learned in high school.Kids should play that game in class.
-------------------- People think that if you just say the word "hallucinations" it explains everything you want it to explain and eventually whatever it is you can't explain will just go away. It's just a word,it doesn't explain anything... Douglas Adams
