Always heed your paranoia

Man, just got a drunk call from my buddy... I was supposed to go with him tonite but I have to get up early so I stayed home. I knew that shit was sketch too.
He was messin' with this chick, her ex-boyfriend got pissed... they were all blah blah pissed off and in a big feud with each other ya know how shit goes. But he was talking with the chick and everything seemed to cool down... the dude said he was sorry and shit and got off on the wrong foot, maybe we can throw back some beers sometime shit.... next thing you know, they invite him to a party tonite. I told him not to go, but he went anyway 'cuz he's a "badass"... he thought maybe they were trying to really be cool, so he thought he'd check it out and see what's up. He took a small hand-gun with him just in case.
Paranoia was right... they were all standing around in some dude's back yard, thug boys mostly, and talking and shit, and the ex-boyfriend dude comes out of nowhere and cracks the fuck out of my friend's face with brass knuckles... and all these guys at the party moved in on him to fuck him up bad.... He pulled out the gun and pistol whipped the dude that hit him and fired the gun in the air (because he was scared as fuck to get beat by 10 dudes) and they all ran away and the girls were yelling "I'm calling the cops" and shit... so he split.
I told him to go to the hospital because from what he tells me he's gushing blood from his eyebrow... the whole area above his eye is split open badly....or at least try to stop the bleeding, clean that shit out with alcohol and super-glue the shit up.
I hate this "Brawl-some-more" or "Harm city" (Baltimore) attitude... I wanna move away from here so bad... I can't stand the low-class violent nut-flex bullshit all the time.
but anyhow, trust that paranoia man.

damn, that sucks dude...i hate violence, primarily because I'm a seeker of truth at all times, and fighting doesn't prove what is right (which should be the purpose of an argument), it proves who is "right"
sounded kind of obvious that they were planning something on him, good thing he brought the gun though, otherwise he would've been FUCKED

*faints* *Pouts* I can never get a night of peace and quiet can I?
Fuck it, if he wants to be a dumb ass and not seek medical attention for something severe, that's his own stupidity... I wont forget to put roses on your grave.

This is why i don't party with other people. The only time i have ever let loose with people, was when i went to the NE gathering this year. It made me sad to realize i am not more acquainted with people like everyone i met. I don't have friends really to be honest, but i wouldn't hang out with people that you mentioned in your story. I wouldn't even come close to being in the same room as people like that. When guns are necessary to go to socialize, is defiantly the time i stay at home. I'm glad your friend isn't hurt more, or dead.

Why wont he go. No insurance or what? He needs a head scan and the works. That's a real bad area to get hit in.

wow, he doesn't want to go to the hospital.. I would go if i had a huge cut and you could see the bone or skull...
That should tell you that its a pretty damn big cut and needs some attention.
Maybe he doesn't have insurance? The ER is crazy expensive.
I remember when I was in Cali and had to go to the ER because i sprained my ankle while hopping the jetty at corona del mar beach. It was like a thousand bucks...
If you go and are broke and really have no other way, fake name and id is the way to go.

Well, he's pretty bad from what I hear.... they're taking him to the ER now (Thank god I didn't have to go force him)
I agree man, I don't hang around those types... I've known this guy for a long time and I try to warn him about hanging out with these shady people. I hang around artsy preppy types, old laid-back rock and roll types, and people who play sports and shit... I rarely hang around thugs, crack dealers and gangsters, just not my dig. I've gotten myself into bullshit before, but ultimately, I don't see why people can't just chill the fuck out and be cool, and if you have a problem... what's really so horribly wrong with talking and trying to work it out as calm, reasonable adults? IF you can't work it out... just stop being around each other.

He started getting sick and pale from losing blood and his roomate's mom (haha yeah, they rent out her mom's basement) came down and told him that she would drive him... so he went. He has insurance, I don't know why there was any problem at all in going on your own accord.... but I guess when a really hot mid-aged cougar type urges you to do something...you just do what you're told
I hope he's gonna be ok... I also hope, even tho the violence sucks 'n' all, that he atleast fucked that one dude up that he pistol whipped. a hard crack in the face with brass knuckles has been known to kill people instantly, that's a fucked up cheap shot.

These people have just not transceneded yet to another level. Who knows if they will, all you can do is give it time. People develop at different rates....

Would you condone the act of purposefully putting yourself in harm's way with a pistol on-hand? Hopefully the guy learns some sort of lesson.

I believe it. When something crazy like that happens you have no idea what your instincts and reflexes will do to attempt to save your body.
I was at a bar a little while ago and I got punched in the face by a guy wearing a diamond ring because I was dancing with his girlfriend... Yeah. WTF.
Anyways. The ring split my lip open totally and I was knocked unconscious but the bouncer who called the ambulance for me said that after I took the hit I punched him back he said: "I've seen alot of broken noses, and that guy had one when we kicked him out of here. A bad one. So I guess you got one in."
So yeah. I fucked him up too... while I was unconscious.

I don't understand what you're saying. Where are they arguing over who is right? And what does non-violence have to do with truth?
If you're saying that complete pacifism is the only way to go I would argue against the concept that love is equated with pacifism.... unless I totally misread what you said in which case im sorry for "calling you out" like that.

Well, heh, To make it even more unbelievable, I just got word today that last night they referred him to an orthopedic doctor this morning. and he has two good fractures in his forehead/eyebrow. They're saying they might have to do a surgery and put some kind of plate or brace in it so the bone heals right. So he might have a plate in his face for at least a year (you can have 'em removed after the bone heals.)
To be honest with you, I don't know how someone could withstand something like that. I know I probably couldn't. He's a pretty big guy, mostly muscle, and he did do a tour in North Korea in the Army back about 7 years ago, so he is pretty tough. I just wish he had more sense. that guy knew he would need brass knuckles to bring him down, and it still didn't... I'm impressed... He'll atleast have a story to tell chicks at the bar to swoon 'em into taking their panties off.
