What Can I Do to Fight the War on Drugs?
    #895188 - 09/20/02 06:43 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

If you are an American against the War on Drugs, please send a donation here to help the Nevada initiative to legalize marijuana.

They have only received 3000 donations out of millions of pot smokers. Come on people, there are 15,000 of us here. Sacrifice a few day's worth of dope and send them $20.

Is it true? Does marijuana does demotivate people?

Negate that helpless feeling. Tell the goverment where you stand!

Yes, they seriously need the money. They have already spent the first round of donations for the first set of TV ads. They are now down to nothing and need our support badly. If Nevada succeeds in legalizing marijuana, this will be a signifcant step forward for our green friend.

It won't be legal in the US until the federal prohibition laws are completely repealed. It doesn't matter if it's medical or recreational. The jack booted federal goon squads will still point guns at you and take you away.

That depends entirely on where you live... People who are allowed to possess it because they are terminally ill still get hassled by cops. B.C. has the most relaxed attitude towards it, but it is still illegal....the cops there just don't give a shit.

There was someone in England who got busted recently - a lot of people seem to think weed is "decriminalised" in England. The guy said to the cop "But i thought it was legal now", the cop just laughed and said "Who told you that".

Decriminalised is useless - just leaves the drugs in the hands of the gangsters. Legalisation is what's needed.

decriminalization isn't useless.  it still gives us a bit of a break if we get busted.  for example, living in calfornia some years ago i may have been arrested for carrying around a half an ounce of herbs... now a days, it's a $100 walk away ticket.

though federal laws still stand in the way, it's tough for the feds to make a lot of busts with no cooperation from the local authorities.  i would donate to this fund if i wasn't so tight on $ right now... although i wish it was california that was doin' it

LSAUser, you are an idiot. You keep posting your bullshit about weed being free in Canada.

i live in Canada, and know ppl who have criminal records for possessing a small amounts of pot and shrooms. ppl get thrown in jail all the time for pot here. over 600,000 have criminal records for pot.

get your facts straight!!!!

you can go to jail for 6 months for 1st possession:

decriminalization isn't useless. it still gives us a bit of a break

But it also encourages the general public to shy away from legalisation because "decriminialisation is almost the same isn't it?".

At the end of the day our children will still be buying dangerous shit from gangsters. Decriminalised or not. No-one will ever know if the next "X" pill is going to make them feel good or kill them.

point taken. i can see where you're coming from, but decriminalization will always have to come before legalization with any sheduled drug, ihmo.

Here Here!
I have just recently began donating my Time for the MRP of New York State - Trying to do a small part to end this madness. I think everyone who loves the freedoms we enjoy, and wants to get non-violent drug POW's out of Jail and put a stop arresting the Sick and Terminially Ill should try and do something.
Small acts add up.
