Both of these replys are totally different. One of you says that you can only get a little over one jar which is 2 cups out of one pound, and the other says that you can get 5 quarts out of not even two punds. Hey matts how many cups do you put in those jars I know you said 3/4 full so I was thinkin 2 cups. I trust you Matts but I guess the only real way is to find out for myself.

A cup of rye berries weighs about 6.5 ounces, so 16oz (1 pound) / 6.5 = 2.4615384615384615384615384615385 cups.  So I was right in the first place with "off the top of my head" guess. :tongue:

One person was pretty much talking about dry cups, whiel the otehr one said how many jars he can fil (meaning wet rye grain).... rememebr the grains expand a lot.. i'm not exactly sure how much rye grains do.. i know from my experience with bird seed... 3 cups gets me about 5-6 pint jars 3/4 the way filled.
