Can you outgrow philosophy?

I started frequenting this forum about 6 years ago under a different name, and was really big into philosophy at the time. About 2 years ago there came a point in my life where I just lost interest in intellectualizing. My personality changed a lot and became very outward focused rather than introverted. It was sort of like I felt I reached a dead end by thinking about endless theories about what I don't know, and I decided to interact with the world around me, to get in touch with other human beings, as a way to learn about life. I wanted to live life more directly, instead of just thinking about it all the time. Has anyone else here gone through a similar phase, or any kind of drastic personality change?

Sort of, I have a difficult time jumping into a debate now, because there usually just end up in a stalemate anyway..... Just depends upon who is debating, and who has to have the last word.... Lots of tail chasing, not a lot of "new" noteworthy stuff to apply to life after a while....
I still like to read the clever debates/discussions about the things that I have an interested in, but don't know a lot about.... Might pop in for a poke at humor, but usually just stay in the lighthearted lurker mode, or creative mode.... But, the creative stuff I just usually keep to myself, because there isn't really too much to debate about....

i stopped caring about philosophy at some point this year when i realized i couldn't think myself out of existence
many topics still intrigue me, and i still think way more than i should (than i act), and i hope to further lose interest in philosophy, except for those bits that may help me understand myself and interactions better

You have descended from the mountain into the 10,000....
But being in one of those places or the other is a matter of perception.. everything is one, that can be perceived easily... but now you must see the one in everything.. which is much harder to do.

I think it's true that at a certain point you realize that it's all just mental masturbation, but it does feel good even though you're just wanking around.

Yes, but what if one never comes to a mental orgasm? Eventually you're rubbed raw.

That might be more of an unemergent property.....

. I guess we can outgrow philosophy, but we'll never outgrow making masturbation jokes.

either way, if you are an extrovert or an introvert, you are still engaging in conceptualization. unless you aren't into socializing, or don't think.
but yeah, less computer time and more inward focus would be nice here. maybe a vipassana retreat will kick my ass into motivation.

I never have a problem getting into a discussion with some of my friends where the convo just keeps evolving.
But there are plenty of discussions that I won't get in on because its clear that open minds aren't available.
I don't hop into too many shroomery p&s convo's because everyone gets so condescending here.

There might be a few but I wouldn't say everyone.
