ive played both Earthbound and maniac mansion. I loved that earthbound game, it was definitly entertaining. I heard that they were realising an Earthbound 64 a while back, but it never came out. I wonder what happened. i was eagerly waiting to play it.

Fug it...
How about ARKANOID?! The arcade game with the little metal wheel is the best way to play. Joust comes second.

EVO was damn cool.. it was addicting cuz you got so personal with your character.. watched it grow from the beginnings of life!
i remember watching for Earthbound 64 (mother3) for a long ass time, and it just eventually disappeared.. sucks too, the pictures and storyline looked really interesting. oh well, now we have more room for games like Xtreme Cool Boardaz 5
Araknoid is the shit
anyone played Persona? i remember just letting the introduction to that game run on loop cuz i loved it so much

An old Bungie game. There were actually 3 of them, the first was back around the same time as DOOM so it had a similar pseudo-3d engine. A lot more effort put into the single-player storyline than id's stuff. Only was ever big on the Macintosh since Macs didn't get Doom until much later.
Would probably suck to play now, but you can see a lot of Marathon influences in Oni and Halo (Bungie's newer games.)

Has anyone seen the movie ExistenZ? Its about a virtual reality video game of the future where you plug this device into your spine and by all means of definition you exist as yourself within the gaming world. Its indistinguishable from real life, and this creates all sorts of problems for determining which is which. Its a pretty good movie and raises some interesting questions. Is that what video games could be like in the future? We all plug in and exist in this virtual world just like real life except what you do has no consequence to your physical body. If this is the gaming world why would you ever want to come back to the real world?
Is such an immersion in a virutal reality a bad thing? The criticism I've always had of video games is that it just replaces the real world with a cheap and unrealistic immitation which decreases your interaction and appreciation for what actually exists. But maybe the gaming world is just as valid as this world. I don't know. Interesting.

I got hooked on EverQuest too, played it from the day it hit store shelves up until about 10 or 12 months ago. Played on Xegony, had (still have technicly) a level 59 wizard, level 22 cleric and a little level 12 enchater that i used for trade skills.
But Final Fantasy 3 is and always will be the best video game ever made

YES!! Classic! The cool part is that the game isn't completely linear; you can make all sorts of weird combinations of creatures by evolving different body parts. I'd love to see a new version of that game.
