to you gamers out there...

How do you feel about videogames? (if anything)

Is there somewhere in videogameland that is magical to you?

i always feel all tingly when i think of Mario..

and DM3 in Quake1 feels like an old home...

haha... this is goofy...

Everquest.

It opened me up to the concept of virtual reality and telepathic training matrixes. I was addicted for about a year and a half, I can't remember for sure, as things are pretty hazy from that era in my life....

It must be what crack feels like.

I can't wait for the next few generations of these multi-user games. Everquest was amazing to me at first but I think it's still quite primitive. Imagine what these games will be like ten or twenty years down the road. Sooner or later they'll become completely immersive, just plug something into your brain and you're there.

I think The Sims is a culturaly significant game. Anyone into it? The Sims Online is coming soon...

Hell yeah, Everquest to me was all about the potential of these types of games... it blows my mind to think about.

Hehe I still remember playing Doom on direct-connect years ago. To see a character that I KNEW my friend was controlling in real time blew my mind like nothing else.

yeah!!! i know what you mean about DM3 man, exactly!!!  quake was so great when i was tripping on about 5 sugar cubes.  for lack of a good internet connection i decided to play bots... and man, i couldn't miss!   reflexes increased 10 fold.  even though i could barely make out the details of the level it didn't fuckin matter, i knew the spawn points and where all the items were.  i could make out the bots, gibs and explosions streaking across my FOV, and that's all that mattered.

Final Fantasy 7... all i can say is i fell in love... when cloud's friends were chrused.. i felt sorrow and sadness... then Aeris died and i was stunned.. then i finally beat the game and felt a little more complete in my life..

Im telling ya this game was awesome!

Then FF8 then FF9 then FF10... i liked 9 out of those three the best... just the whole fantasy is a great experience.

Now im into Lineage: the blood pledge.. its a MMORPG.. a great online game.. like Everquest.. soon they will have lineage 2 run by the unreal engine.. they edited the engine to have a seemless world. The graphics are going to rock and they still have the concept of pledges and such.. never played everquest but i bet its good...

Reminds me of when i use to think about how they should make chat rooms where you can create your own character and such and walk around talking to other people... and online rpgs are just that... with a hardcore gamer twist!

ROCK ON! lol

Peace,
Droz

My favorite online game is a sweet and addictive game called
Subspace now known as Continuum. Usually you play against 40-50 ppl at a time but it can be much more..
The game is simple, and it's sometimes been referred to as online asteroids.. but no, it's much more.. It's easy to learn but impossible to master.. i've had moments of Zen playing this game. Check it out, its free.

I also forgot about the stategy games.

Warcrafct I & II... then came Age of Empires.. when i played that i bought registration for this game server called Kali. After AOE2 came out most of the people i knew and loved to play with left Kali for microsoft zone.

Anyone like the original Theme Park for ps1?

Xenogears would have to be my favorite RPG. One of the only ones I could stand on the PSX, as well. I've been playing Neverwinter Nights like it's crack recently.

Yes!! FF7!

I cried, I laughed, I felt sorrow with them. I fell in love with Sephiroth, Cloud and Vincent's hotness.

/me drools over Sephiroth, Cloud and Vincent.

Can't forget Legends of Mana or Zelda.

I also like Baulders Gate, Icewind Dale and Diablo II for computer games.

Ha, Zelda use to put me into a trance playing it... still does actually. Feeling such a sense of accomplishment after beating one of the Dragon Warriors or Secret of Mana... so many good games over the years. Some would consider some video games to be a form of meditation..

And lets not forget that video game music was the best kind. Think Nintendo.
