I know nothing of either candidate but if I were American I sure as hell wouldn't vote for someone with a creationist VP.

Sure science is all well and good if Palin need life-saving surgery, or when she uses her phone or computer, but facts such as relativity, the speed of light, evolution, dinosaur fossils, these are all FALSE because the Universe is less than 10,000 years old and was created in 6 days.

What a fruitloop!  She literally has to be completely fucking INSANE or record-breakingly stupid.  It's mind-shattering how somebody with these 'beliefs' can make it so far in your country as to be running for VICE PRESIDENT over MILLIONS of people.  If it weren't so fucking tragic I'd laugh.

Good quote.

I'd like to believe in this day and age it plays a lesser part.  I don't think aetheists are discriminated against in politics in the UK.  We even have Darwin on our £10 note.

It just seems so ridiculous, like a huge step backwards.

Ron Paul dropped out, might ought to consider another 3rd party candidate, Ron Paul even agrees, vote 3rd party

on obama, anyone here believe he'll be aiding in the
legalization of drugs? you guys are bashing Palin without the
consideration that she never footed legislation like the Rave
Act, she never coined terms like Drug Czar and she never
slandered a man potentially screwing his life and worked up a
platform in which to exploit the memory of a deceased spouse
to garner support for legislation restricting drugs and alcohol

so when we talk about Change, do we think it's better to have
a VP that actively pursues drug offenders, encourages new
legislation, seeks the prosecution of venue owners where the
acts of others can lead to his conviction

where is this info on Palin opposing medical marijuana

you waste your vote by giving to to a party whom you dont
suppport, the real objective of voting is to vote your ideals
or the party that mostly aligns with them, in voting 3rd party
this election you could give enough votes to make a difference
in future elections either through party reform or getting
matching campaign funds and equal air time for the 3rd parties

but hey, if you want to piss away your vote, vote McBama

thats a shame.  well i guess ill be wasting my vote on another 3rd party member.

and i dont think obama will help medical marijuana, but i havent seen anything about him wanting to jail legal medical pot users in california. but also, lets not forget bidens anti-drug crusades.

i dont see anything about palin opposing medical marijuana, but shes not advocating it either, that coupled with mccains anti-medical marijuana stances = opposition to everyone of us and people like us.

here is obamas stance on it. and i feel much better about this than mccain.

mccain quotes on medical marijuana:

Quote:

"I believe that there is some possibility that quote 'medical marijuana' could spread into other areas and that the definition of medical could expand rather dramatically. You've seen that in other cases." (July 14, 2007, town hall meeting in New Hampshire)

"I don't think marijuana is healthy, I don't think that it is good for people, and I also, there is a large body of medical opinion that says there is plenty of other medications that are more effective and better and less damaging to one's health to use to relieve pain." (July 14, 2007, town hall meeting in New Hampshire)

"I think there's other ways to relieve pain ... I do not believe in legalizing it because I think there's other ways of relieving pain and applying medical help than that, and that’s my position." (August 9, 2007, town hall meeting in Merrimack, New Hampshire)

"I believe that marijuana is a gateway drug. That is my view and that's the view of the federal drug czar and other experts, although that is also a debatable question. I think that there is much more effective ways of relieving pain and suffering than the use of marijuana, and so therefore I view it as something that I do not support. That's just my considered opinion, I'd be glad to receive additional information." (August 11, 2007, house party in Milton, New Hampshire)

"No town hall meeting in New Hampshire is complete without some young man who has been sent here to talk to me about medical marijuana ... The fact is I do not approve of the medical use of marijuana, I never have and I never will, and you all keep coming to the town hall meetings. I'm always glad to see you, it helps with the attendance." (September 29, 2007, house party in Exeter, New Hampshire)

"Every medical expert I know of, including the AMA, says that there are much more effective and much better treatments for pain than medical marijuana ... I still would not support medical marijuana because I don't think that the preponderance of medical opinion in America agrees ... that it's the most effective way of treating pain." (September 30, 2007, town hall meeting in Derry, New Hampshire)

"The law is the law, and I do not believe it's going to be changed, and it's not going to be changed by me." (October 23, 2007, town hall meeting in Exeter, New Hampshire)

"The will of the people, my friend, is that medical marijuana is not something that the quote 'people' want. Certain people feel strongly about this issue, and they show up at most town hall meetings, obviously feel very strongly about it. There is no convincing evidence ... there’s evidence, but no convincing evidence to me that medical marijuana relief of pain and suffering cannot be accomplished by prescriptions from doctors." (Nov. 14, 2007, McCain blogger conference call)

"There may be times when the will of the people, for example Iraq, the will of the people, unfortunately is that we withdraw from Iraq immediately or very very soon. I don't share that view of the will of the people. And I think the will of the people was that we get out of Korea when Harry Truman was president of the United States, but then he decided to do what he thought was best for the will of the country. Now, I don't compare this issue with Iraq or Korea, but, look, I'll be glad to continue this discussion, and read the stuff about it, but I am not changing my position on quote 'medical marijuana,' okay?" (Nov. 14, 2007, McCain blogger conference call, said upon being reminded that the will of the people in California was to make medical marijuana legal)

that's just one of many stances on medical marijuana
it changes every day to pander to the group he's talking to,
just like every other part of his platform

Quote:

During a debate in the Democratic presidential primaries campaign, MSNBC moderator Tim Russert, the claymation journalist, asked the candidates who opposed
decriminalization of marijuana to raise their hands.

Barack Obama hesitantly raised his hand halfway before quickly lowering it again. However, in January 2004, when Obama was running for the Senate, he told Illinois college students that he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use or possession. "I think the war on drugs has been a failure, and I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws," he said during a debate at Northwestern University. "But I'm not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana."

well if youve seen or read any other contradictions to that id like to see it myself.

and that just sounds like he may have misunderstood the question?  he did drop his hand didnt he?  i mean that link you just provided only strengthens what he said in the video i posted. i think he was just a little confused by it, he does not want to decriminalize it for the average person, he is however all for regulated medical use.

Bullshit.

It's only a wasted vote if you believe there is a lesser evil out of the two. Neither of them are acceptable candidates so it doesn't matter to me if I draw a vote away from one or the other.

Like I said, my opinion doesn't really matter anyway, because I can't vote. I should have just stayed out of this discussion altogether, but felt compelled to speak my mind. I really don't think my argument swayed anybody's vote anyway.

he dropped his hand because he didnt want to be the odd man
out, he was hesitant to raise it and quick to pull it down
when he noticed no one else took the same stance, obama says
he's still waiting on scientific evidence shoing that it's
effective and then want it administered as if it were
morphine, under the few guidelines he's proposed it would
probably eliminate 3/4 of the people currently receiving
medical marijuana, he's stated he want the FDA to handle it
under their guidelines, find their stance on the drug

obama has a long history of catering to the crowd, after that
debate he was asked about his opposition, stated he was never
against it, a few days later he once again opposed decriminalization
