mold and spores

My friend was in his university biology class today and asked his prof a question.
He asked "what if a mushroom is contaminated with mold, would the spores the mushroom released still be viable and clean?" and he said they would be fine

what are your thoguhts on this guys? Growing molded cakes , say, outdooors, then making spore prints from the caps

I say, you go ask a proffesional mycologist the same question :wink:

Their response would probably be:
'Mold gives off many millions of spores, which will indeed be present in the mushroom sporeprint'.
