This is one of my favorite talks, and if anyone is remotely interested in atheism, religous zealotry, etc..

Athiesm is just about as good as faith in any god. It amounts to the same thing, faith in the unknown.

Atheism does not involve inventing a supernatural entity to fill the void of the unknown, so it does not require faith (belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence).

There was some good info in there. Like how there is a correlation in some primitive hunter gatherer societies between how many people you have killed and how many children you will produce.

I have to say, I have little respect for suicide bombers;
the only type I have less respect for is one who will kill without being willing to sacrifice their own life.
Also I should make the point, not in favor of the suicide bombers, but against the invaders; the civilized men over there 'with stealth and coalition' more resemble the monkeys and primitives he spoke of than the suicide bombers.

yes, much of the dirt on the "suiciders" could easily be thrown onto the US. it's more honest for the US to just stand for its they're-wrong-we're-right-even-if-we-have-the-same-methods line. rationalizing about it only makes it more apparent that the US/the Western world is also at fault.

i agree, you're right. there certainly was some worthwhile information there. i just see to many rough edges and rotten cores to enjoy the whole.

Athiesm requires faith that there is no god. To be sure that there is no god is as unprovable and unjustified as believing in one.

people of many religions 'know' that the gods of other religions don't exist, is that faith?

Unfortunately, these aren't original beliefs. Belief systems depend on others... usually from people who have hidden agendas.
