Yesterdays finds

Laccaria species:

Slimy Cortinarius species:

Hedgehogs:

They're often hiding:

Clavariadelphus truncatus:

Suillus species, similar to lakeii:

?:

Probably a Cortinarius species:

Hygrophorus species:

Galerina species:

Mycena species:

Armillaria species:

I think these are Hypholoma capnoides, gills remain gray and purple, growing from old conifer stumps, and no bitter taste:

Peace!

Great pics once more landsnorkler, I really enjoyed scrolling through them! The clavariadelphus is a neat find; I've never encountered them yet. They appear to be very rare around here.

Did you collect some of the hypholomas? I had some recently; my mother in law brought some home from Germany where they're sold in jars with vinegar. Rather spoils the taste though, so I'd prefer them fresh. But we only get fasciculare here...

I collected a bunch of them.  I was a little worried at first, but I'm feeling confident now that at least they arn't poisonous.

Lacking a bitter taste, they're most certainly ok. Let us know how you like them

Awesome pics, your unknown might be a Tricholoma.  Let us know how the Hypholomas are if you decide to eat them.

I have searched for years but have not found the edible Hypholoma.  I hear that often when people find them they find a lot.

Yeah, they're in an isolated little area with what I think are massive old Engleman spruce trunks.  The Hypholomas completely colonized this area.  Hundreds are fruiting from some of the trunks.

Thanks for mentioning they might be edible Hypholomas the other day.  Otherwise I wouldn't have gone back and looked.
