THey probably just need a few hours aday of indirect light...... I think I read 12 is optimal but I think you could get away with less.......

The general rule is that if there is enough light to see them then you have enough. In order to get them to grow straight up though it is helpful to have a light source right above them. A clear rubbermaid container or an aquarium in ambient room light will allow enough light in to initiate pinning. It really does not matter though as long as there is some light for at least several hours a day.

6 hrs is fine as well. I turn the light on when I get up, and turn it off a little B4 I got to sleep. Fruits are fine.

But I wasnt seeing good fruits till I put em on a constant schedual. They dont like 5 hrs here, and 12 hrs of dark there, then 11 hrs of light here, etc.
Try to keep it constant

Copy mothers natures lighting time to get optimal results. Overhead light is best, as they usualy lean the direction the light source is coming from. But, not always.

Try this on for size.
I was giving my shrooms 12/12 as suggested.
Things just weren`t growing as expected so I decided to give them less.
Now I give my shrooms 30 min in the morning sometimes 20 in the afternoon and an hour at night, they deffinatelly have started growing faster.
And I haven`t just tried this once or twice.

I was totally under the impression that 12/12 was needed until I noticed a serious lag when the mushrooms were maturing.
So I just returned everything to dark, opened the fruiting chamber in the morning and WOW, double the size.

I now do it with virtually all my bulk grows.
Read Mycofile's bulk log, he states that he sometimes didn`t even give hs shrooms light for a day or 2 due to time or just not too concerned.
And for him it worked perfectly.
Ultimatelly the point is that the light only gives them direction, so why do they need 12 hours of direction???
Mine all grow perfectly straight anyway.

12/12 isnt needed. It just mimicks mother nature. A simple timer works wonders. Set it & forget it. But, whatever works for whoever -- is great. Object is to grow them. No matter how. 6T
