I disagree completely. Skin color is meaningless except to those that give it significance. You can help poor people, regardless of skin color. You can help poor, sick children regardless of skin color. Granted, there may be more black poor people than white poor people, but to claim that there are no poor white people, or that poor white people don't deserve the same as poor black people is racist.

And you could help young homeless people regardless of colour, but that would be age discrimination (what about old homeless people?). The key is that that Michelle Obama isn't an elected official and has no real power - she'd be using her status as celebrity to help whatever part of the community she wants. That's a common thing for first ladies.
