Has anyone tried doing mycelium transfers with bulk substrates such as compost and monure.... I thougth it might be hard due to contam risk and the stong mycelium network that develops

You could transfer fully colonized substrate to a jar of grain as long as everything was as sterile as possible. Not for the inexperienced.

Oh shit, after reading your post, I reread his.  Hahaha.. Yes, it would be possible to do both, but if it were me, I would knock up more grain and use that as spawn..

After 5 succsuful spawns; (caseing parts to new caseings), I just spawned a case of coir (Tressure Coast on its 4th flush) into a manure case as per Roadkill's Horse Poo tek. I will know in a day or 2 if it will work, I will post my progress when it comes.

Dont be afraid to experiment, new substrate is just around the corner.
