What is the ideal moisture for mycelium and how could I tell if it is too much or too little?

PRobably means pf jars.
In which case field capacity applies
Meaning once you`ve made up your mixed substrate, verm/brf, when you squeeze it only a few drops should appear.
Grains I think it`s entirely based on your own tests.
I personally fill a jar just below half-full with birdseed, pint jars.
I then pour water in to just above the line of the seed.
PC it and it tends to come out perfect.
Poo or straw the same idea applies.
Once you've pastuerised it you should also squeeze it to field capacity.

Squeezing vermiculite is not the best idea though, since you will destroy the structure.

Aint that the truth.
That`s why I stay far away from pf mixtures.
I used to find 2nd flush and my casing would be falling apart because the vermiculite would flake apart.
