 Pets and bad trips

So i was thinking that since pets such as dogs and cats are proven to decrease anxiety and help with depression, along with expanding ones life spand. wouldn't they also be able to help with a bad trip? i haven't had the chance to see if their is truth to this yet. does anyone think its possible or not?

IMHO I think that they help. I love trippin with my dog,hes just really chill and always has good vibes.

LOL just the opposite i cant stand being around my hounds they get weirdly clingy. for you and a bad trip do you like animals ?? try good luck.

i've tripped around animals before that just flip out and really add to the anxiety. as in constant nervous barking, won't stop running around, etc.

My cat is definitely nice to have around while tripping. Most of the time she just picks up on the strange tripping vibe and acts a bit out of whack, but a cuddly fuzzy purr-ball can certainly be a comfort during trip anxiety.

my dogs do the same.
When Im doing ayahuasca, my chihuahua always jumps beside me on the couch and becomes more clingy and cuddly than usual. I guess they have a sense for such things

I definitely think its possible depending on what your relations with you pet is like. For me, my dog (yellow lab) is pretty chilled out but is so easily amused by the slightest things. If you have a pet that is hyper-active and kicks up a fuss over small things then I wouldn't imagine that it would be of any comfort while you're having a bad trip. However, if you have the kind of animal that knows when it's time to play or when it's time to take a rest then I can definitely see how having it around would be a comforting especially if you're having a bad trip it could make you feel like theres someone else there like a sitter.
The best thing is is that you're pet won't be like, "dude you are trippin'"...actually maybe it would if you trip hard enough! Best thing to do would be buy some exotic colourfull fish, now they can be a trip in itself.

lol, my dog is the shit when im tripping. I also feel they have a sense for it. Once when i was have a bad trip, my dog just came over and started to chill with me, and everything became good again.

My dog is pretty chill.
He knows when its time to play and when its time to just chill and rest. I've always liked trippin with him.

Pets are great while tripping. I remember one time while tripping I really believed my cat could talk and kept on trying to get her to say "F". I just kept on repeating to her "Say F, say F." lol

If I have a overwhelming trip and I come home while I'm coming down, my dog was always there to great me and she would come sit in front of me wherever I was and I swear we would have some sort of telepathic experience, she radiated comfort. My cat and my snake are the same way, but never as consistently as my dog, who died the beginning of June.
I say yes, if they're happy comfortable pets. If they have anxieties, I'm sure it could worsen the situation.

i trip with my cat every trip.... he guides me... i know he can see the spirit world, and protects me from evil spirits.... i really believe this is true from countless experiences with my cat.... i have even given him a bit of mushrooms, and he loved it.

Animals are amazing when you are tripping. A billion things go through my mind when i am petting a cat on my lap while on half q of mushies. I never get sick of it.
I think you do develop a different connection while on psychedelics.

I would say it could very well go in either direction. Back when my dog was still alive, I would have absolutely loved to trip with him, and he would have done wonders to comfort me if I had anxiety. On the other hand, I wouldn't do it around an animal I wasn't very familiar with.
Animals (esp. dogs) sense fear very acutely, and usually don't like it one bit. They comfort you when you are sick, but they freak out when you're scared. I suppose it all depends if the animal got the "sick" vibe from you, or the "I'm terrified, we are in danger" vibe.
Of course, that's not factoring in the fact that having the animal there in the first place could stop you from entering into anxiety at all.

im sure the stronger the connection with the animal, the deeper the connection would be when tripping

I love tripping with my dog. He is solid and extremely docile when its time to chill. Ive actually had a very deep telepathic experience where we mentally connected and he flooded my soul with his love and emotion. I think he was showing me he was able to love and that he actually loved me very much. It was so profound it brought me to tears.
So, if I was having a bad trip, I absolutely believe having my dog around would help.

I have alot of pet birds and tropical fish and their all pretty special, especially my lorikeet(nectar parrot native to oz) shes very sensitive to psychic matter and whenever im tripping she's always giving me this funny silent look turning her head from side to side making obscure screech's and hiss's like shes reading my mind and analysing my energy.. i think they help greatly with bad trips
