what are these?

heya,
these were found under a pine tree (has softer needles than the blue spruce) and in a park in south central PA. i?ve tried to find pics but i was just curious. thanks for any help anyone is able to give. Peace

maybe pluteus admirabilis -do they have pink spores

yes, if they have pink/salmon print they could qualify as a pluteus. they look similar to the pluteus cervinus that grow in my garden in eastern long island, in which case i believe they would be edibles. can anyone confirm this?

Your photos are almost certainly Marasmius oreades, one of the most common lawn inhabiting mushrooms, and they are edible. Be careful that any you eat are not taken from lawns which have had something poisonous put on them - they concentrate the external poisons, a common feat of mushrooms. Also, check that the stems of each are tough as you described. Another common but very poisonous lawn mushroom, Clitocybe dealbata, is known to sometimes grow alongside Marasmius. It can be easily distinguished by having a relatively very fragile stem.

You should be able to verify that they have a white to pale tan spore print, and that they were growing in grass.
