I want to get some decent speakers for my laptop. I want something that has stereo quality. I was looking at these speakers but wanted some advice from people who know more about audio. I have seen everything from 2 watt output to 3,000 watts

M-Audio has some real nice USB media speakers for a relatively cheap price. Look on PSSL.com. In my opinion they have the cheapest prices. Once you have found what you want, if you have a Sam Ash in your area they will price match everything.

I was hoping to find a steal on eBay once I figure out exactly what I want in terms of power output. I also dont know if I need to look for anything specific in order for it to be able to hookup to my notebook computer
I want something that will rumble the walls a little bit

Well to start I wouldn't buy any electronics of ebay. Thats just my opinion. Most people, even stores on ebay, are not authorized dealers so all warranty's are void. You will def have to upgrade your sound card for an extremely bassy set up. You may want to purchase an interface that you can just run to an amp. If you already have a good home system this will allow you to run to your home amp via RCA, XLR, 1/4 inch etc... Alesis M1-ACTIVE-320USB Studio Monitors w/USB these are great speakers for laptops that will run just around 100 bucks. The sound is crisp and clean. M-Audio AV-30 30W Compact Computer Monitors these are great as well at around 130 bucks. Neither will shake your walls but for a straight plug in into a laptop they are amazing. Depending on your budget you are looking at anywhere from 100 as a low to thousands. Establish your budget and practicality of what you want these speakers for and I will help design you a nice set-up.

I have no home stereo whatsoever, that is the only reason I would consider putting some money into a speaker system for my computer. I think I am going to check out the Alesis M1's and M-Audio AV-30's, that fits much better with my budget. I really wanted something with a small sub to get a little bass but that doesnt look feasible given my budget.
I really didnt want to spend more than 100$
Thank you for your help this morning
