You might as well collect your money now.
If a planet 3 times the mass of Earth is less than a year away, it would have been detected already, visually, or by its gravitational affects. So it's safe to say that the 12th planet won't be visiting us next year, unless it materializes out of thin air.

OK, I will do that. BTW I am offering a very generous 50% collection fee. Perhaps I should call Vince and Bruno...

The Annunaki are undoubtly being held up by the Pleadians. You'll have to await the next return of Nibiru in 5603. then you can collect.
Don't forget about the good greys, the evil greys, the Reticulans, the Centaurans and the Mantis men, they all have their agendas...

You left out the Arcturians, Bellatricians, Lyrans, Fomalhautans, Mintakans, Pegasians, Procyonans, Sirians and Tau Cetians. But that's ok.

What if the earth's magnetic field does actually flip in 2003, but there are no confirmations of any large mass passing by the Earth, would that be enough to satisfy the 12th planet bet?
If the magnetic field flipped, Earth's magnetishpere would be disrupted, leaving only the ozone layer to protect the surface from direct solar radiation. (and you know what shape the ozone layer is in). There would be extensive mutation of the genome, some will die, some will evolve. The human race will be altered forever.
It would usher in the age of Aquarius or something like that.
Seriously though, there is a theory that evolution takes place in spurts. Maybe these spurts are caused by increased radiation from the sun due to periodic magnetic pole shifts.

Shroomism's exerpt says a 90 degree shift in the poles. He doesn't say magnet poles.
What I'm talking about would be a 180 degree shift in the magnetic poles.
The article I linked to said it takes 5000 years from start to finish for the poles to reverse, so it's not going to happen "in 2003".
What do you think the sumerians saw then?

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! I GROW TIRED IN MY OLD AGE BUT IM STILL ABLE TO POST!!!!
and to MR SHROOMERISM: DO NOT think i have forgotten about OUR little bet. it was set at a much more realistic amount of $1500 (US Currency). Do not think that for a second I'm going to forget about this. I already have your money kept in a seperate bank account... to which I will give you the access number to if you so happen to win. But I am thinking that I will be the winner, and I fully intend on collecting this money, whether you are cooperative or not, remember this.
And to Swami: I see you havnt changed one bit, as sceptic as ever! Good to see at least somethings in the shroomery remain the same. Oh and btw I see you have turned into a bit of a plagerer, your bottom signature is from a pin, which i have sitting right here on my desk.
Well nice to post again on the shroomery. cheers

5000 years is pretty sudden, relatively speaking. Maybe it's happening right now. The magnetic pole is slightly offset from the geographic north pole. Maybe it's slowly migrating to the south as we speak. Whether it was sudden or gradual, the level of radiation would increase in the areas that correspond to the magnetic poles because that's where the field lines come to a point. It's normally in the far North where solar radiation occasionally provides a beautiful auroral display. As it slowly makes its way south, it would cut a swath of land that is exposed to increased radiation.
When the magnetic pole reaches the equator (after it has shifted 90 degrees), that would be the time when the surface receives the most radiation because the Sun would be shining directly down on the magnetic pole, where there is no protection.

Picture the magnetic field lines tilted 90 degrees. We would be facing solar radiation directly. Who knows what the consequences would be. You could bet it won't be pleasent.

Yeah that picture does look like a spider!
I like this picture better because it shows the size comparison of the sun and earth:
and it graphically demonstrates how screwed we would be if the magnetosphere were to be disrupted, which WILL happen.
The Sun undergoes magnetic pole reversals with regularity: http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/space/02/16/sun.flips/ and the Earth is long overdue: http://abcnews.go.com/sections/science/DailyNews/magneticfield990521.html
The history indicates that Earth's magnetic field declines dramatically over several thousand years preceding a polar reversal. "During reversals at the lowest part of the curve, the magnetic field is so low that some people believe that the earth is not protected by the magnetosphere during this time," says Jean Pierre Valet, a geologist and one of the authors of the paper. Yet no correlation has been established between reductions in the magnetosphere and mass extinctions as a result of exposure to the solar wind, Valet says. Nor have any climate variations like the onset of ice ages been conclusively connected to changes in the magnetic field. But drastic changes in the field would certainly affect our physical surroundings. In fact, they may already be changing. Scientists have noted that Earth's magnetic field has been declining for the past 150 years. This has led some to speculate that a field reversal is under way

I ALWAYS get a kick out of pathetic arguments proposed to explain why some highly-predicted metaphysical event will not be seen. Your argument works if:
1. The object mirrored the earth's orbit EXACTLY which is not possible.
2. There was a mysterious gravitational anomoly that has gone unexplained. (There isn't).
3. The multitude of space probes sent since the '70's were unable to detect it. (They haven't.)
Next...

The proof is in the pudding.

my two cents solar flares can affect magnetism just as a full moon can affect tides so look to increasing solar flares as a possible explanation of the magnetic shift of th epoles another possibility is being hit by an object large enough to cause continetal shift, this too might cause a change in magnetism
my understanding, and i believe the precession of the equinoxes which has been known from near babylonian times suggests a 26,000 year cycle in which there are 12 zodiac signs, a differnet sign arising in the constellation of the zodiac sign roughly every 2,200 years.
the megalithic structures of our earth, when one studies geodectics does suggest a periodicity of cataclysmic events that these megalithic structures may have tried to convey in their building.
my thoughts ar ethe following th paraellipitical orbit of some of the ddbris in our solar system hits very 10-13 thousnad years with smaller bits possibly hitting at intervals of 2-3 thousnad years, becasue we pass througha portion of our solar system where this debris dives at a 90 dgree angle to ours
then every 30 million years our solar sytem goes through the part of our galaxy which is debris ridden and we get hit by a bigger rock
stitchin is just rrying to create sensationalism around astronomical occurences which are known to ocuur
the star systems sirius and draconia and others have been important during times when the zodiac signs were different
so what does the age of aquarius mean to you>?
