Eating a mushroom to test what it is? I'm sure he'll definitely know what they are when he is pissing out of his ass or buried in the ground.
that may have been a bold statement, first see what the spore print looks like

Are you sure the prints are a jet black and not a dark purple brown?
Do they bruise blue where damaged, or are they just blue to start with?

you should really consider sending out some samples for microscopy to anyone here with the equipment/knowledge to do it.
they definitely look active. how far are you from Harrisburg?

Looks like the east coast is the new place for actives. Those arn't ovoids either. I'll be checking more wood chips in my area for now on.

I'm stumped, but I'd love to do a microscopic examination.
Check your PM's
Spore size and shape will at least help narrow down the possibilities and will tell what Section it belongs in.

Oh im amost sure of it, even though microscopy is the only right way to tell. several ppl have found close new speciese around his state that look very close and all were Very active. 1 dry gram took the finder on a flight

Actually, microscopy can't tell it's active if it happens to be something entirely new in a genus that has no recorded active species. Chemical analyses are the way to go.
