Maintaining the proper temperature in terrarium
    #884270 - 09/15/02 10:29 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I am using the P. Fanaticus method right now, and my fruiting chamber is a 20 gallon fish tank / dual chambered terrarium. The room the fruiting chamber is kept in is not warm, its at an average temperature of 60-70f
I could use some reccomendations on how to acheive a temperate in the terrarium of about 80. Heating blankets under the fish tank? A space heater would heat the entire room the fish tank is in, dont want that, any suggestions?

Also! I just remembered a question I had about using a moist layer of perlite at the bottom of the terrarium for humidity conditions, does the perlite need to be changed at all during the time its in there? Dried out?

If you can, raise the A/C.

Perlite es bueno. My buddy doesn't change the perlite. The best way to know if you are running low on water (which you shouldn't, since thats the idea of a terrarium) is buy a digital humidity gauge from radio shack, if the humidity drops, add some water. I've also heard that it's somewhat helpful to put about a capful of H2O2 onto your perlite.
