Need info on substrates that work best

I am at the point of chosing a substrate and I would like some ideas on what works the best. Please tell me from experience only. My strains that im useing are all cubes: B+s, Lipa-Yai, and Pesa's I have good knowledge and have read all the ways to make substrates, but i would like some personal experiences thanks

BRF cakes (PF style) are the easiest, and in turn, IMO the best substrate, but thats just cause I'm lazy and I don't have a pressure cooker. If I did, and I got up my courage to grow, I would use grain, or birdseed as spawn to start a bulk project with horse poo. But the way you asked your question is like asking how do you get there? Where? exactly. Be more direct in your questioning, and you will get more direct answers. Hope this helped a little.

Go with brf/verm!
Pf-tek is way to go especially if your a newbie :wink:

Fully colonized jars of basic inexpensive bird/seed (combo of red & white millet -- with a small % of other seeds, grain & crushed corn) spawned into:

Pasturized :wink:

Horse dung

Cow dung / straw combo

Prepaired Compost

Sterilized :wink:

Rye and/or Birdseed

In any size  non-see through Rubbermaid or Sterilite tub.

Wheat berry flour (ground up weat berries) and course verm works the best 4 me.
WBF in place of BRF, the colo of the jar is a little slower, but I see increased fruits.

Just my EXP.

i have had success with brf with the lipa-yai and pesa's. with b+'s i haven't had asuccessfull colonization yet with brf. i haven't even seen a spec of mycelium. it might be because the spores were bogus or it might have been the substrate.

listen to SixTango and Road.

Once you`ve got the pressure cooker and grain ratios down then birdseed is a sinch.
Spawning poo/straw is also basic as long as you understand wat is needed.
Pastuerising and cleanliness are important but simple.
I personallt think birdseed is easier than brf/verm hands-down
