I'm talking vitamins, protein, and whatnot.
Do you guys take any? Any tips on what's good, what to avoid, how to take (around meals and such)?
I've been on a big health kick lately.

Far as I understand it.. taking a multivitamin is no replacement to eating an actual healthy diet. They are not even the same categories.
But if you're not getting the vitamins then getting them from a pill is not going to hurt you. It's just not ideal. But it could save you from coming down with some kind of chronic deficiency. Though if you lived off multivitamins you'd probably turn into a mutant.

That's why it's called a supplement. I'm not looking to replace food. I love food.

Ok well just had to make sure.. I think some people are under the impression they can just live off hot pockets and take a vitamin and be healthy as shit. It doesn't work like that.
But yeah the only supplements I take are herbal supplements.. gingko, garlic, cayenne, chamomile, etc.. I don't really fuck with vitamins unless its from the food I'm eating. Although I do like those chewable vitamin Cs

I've been working out heavily for a year. I want to get bigger without supplements and so have been trying to eat a lot. I'm really struggling to get one over on my metabolism, though. 5 meals a day, all good food, lots of protein (chicken, tuna, eggs), snacking constantly on fruit etc. I'm growing, but it's slow. I'm like a 5'9" food furnace.
I thought about whey protein but figured if I want to make this a lifelong habit then supplements are an awful habit to have.

I supplement a few things to make sure I have a ton of that vitamin and because it's cheap.
I take two cod liver gels a day, a magnesium bar, and a vitamin E gel. Pancreatin (digestive aid by Kal) is another thing I was taking everyday but I'm almost out.
Right now I'm also taking Revitalx for digestion by Natural Factors. It includes a lot of vitamins and works kind of like a multi IMO. Look into that if you are interested.
Other than that I agree with Shroomism. Remember, I take the above pills to make sure I have a lot of that vitamin available, not because I don't get any of it in my food.
