Dunk question.

I tried to find out this out my self with no luck, My question is in the dunking part of a grow, is it possible to dunk the cakes in the jar that i used to grow them? Meaning before the birthday could i scrap off the dry ver layer and fill the jar with water and then after the soak then put them in grow chamber or am i opening up for contam? thanks for the feed back.

It should be possible. Iv never done it this way. but I do use pint jars to dunk my half-pint cakes when one or two are ready and the rest aren't.

its better to dunk them in a pot with plate ontop of them to keep them submerged under the water. simply having them itting in water isnt enough to hydrate the cake. a little water pressure helps.
fully colinised cakes are resistnt to contamination, putting the pot in the fridge will keep any bacteria in the water at bay if you live in a warm country(personally never had a problem without fridge).

That's how I did mine. I just set a clean marble on top of the cake so it was submerged after I screwed the top back on the jar
