Usually hold mine in for a about 5 seconds total. About 3-4 seconds holding it in and a slow 2 second exhale.

Exactly, holding your hit for a long period of time gives you more of a head rush than anything making it feel like you are higher, granted there is some extra THC getting absorbed....Taking in some air on top of your hit is pretty important. It gets all that smoke actually down into your lungs, otherwise it is just sitting in your throat/esophagus, which is just as bad if not worse than smoke in your lungs....

atm i wish i could hold it in for more then 1 second cause i have a cold, but usually its about 5 seconds or so.. anymore and its just emphezema

I find when I hold my smoke in longer, I'll have a more prolonged and intense high. Also the effects of lack of oxygen don't last that long, so that couldn't be the reason.

The key is to inhale smoke again ,after releasing ,instead of fresh air ..........hit ,exhale ,inhale smoke,exhale,inhale smoke,exhale,inhale smoke,exhale,inhale smoke,exhale,inhale smoke,exhale,inhale smoke,exhale,then you get a good buzz..........no fresh air untill the bowl,bong,spliff,pinch,bone,huka etc is gone.Then repeat from morning untill bedtime!! To hell with all these sissy pot pipes ,step up to a big ol sherlock holmes pipe like your grandpa smoked,then your getting a good buzz,gatta use a grinder too or your just missing out.Better flavor ,bigger hits and a stash of kief to boot.
Why play around or dabble,wallow in that shit ,get the maximum out of it,then finish the day off with a volcano full of kief...

i have experiemented with this b4. i have taken hits when i hold it in for several seconds and then trying it again, except holding it in as long as possible. for me, i seem to get higher the longer i hold it in. but everyone is different, so i guess ur all going to get different results.
