No, I am aware of the definition of Renaissance Humanism (spent a year studying that exact topic actually), and that is the form of humanism that I was referring to all-along; it places an almost exclusive ideological focus on Man.

I don't believe the ideal philosophy has been realized yet, to answer the last poster. I myself haven't fully fleshed out my own ideas on the topic, but I think panentheism is one step in the right direction; I'm still in the dark myself, but I like to think that I'm on the path.

No there isn't.

I really don't care either way, but yes there is in fact a good argument; these races are distinct genotypically and phenotypically, due to adaptive evolution in differing environments. If Darwin's Finches are considered as separate species despite being able to produce fertile offspring together, then I see no reason why humans wouldn't be, other than political correctness in light of the implications of special status. But what is 'race', then? A euphemism for the lay-folk?

"Species" is just another meaningless assignment of human vocabulary to phenomena. If you can look past our black-and-white classification of life, what do you see? One Species: Life -- the explosion of complexity out of a single ancestor, that master of abiogenesis.

You obviously have studied a bit of biology, but perhaps you missed that class when they taught the proper definition of a species. They have to be unwilling to mate outside of captivity. Since different races can, and do mate willingly, they are not separate species. Not even separate subspecies. We're all Homo sapiens sapiens here.
