ID on central florida shrooms
    #881917 - 09/13/02 12:50 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

I went to a cowfield near sarasota, florida and found these shrooms growing on cow shit. All of the shrooms i found look very similar. About 5 of them bruised blue but all the other did not. The blue ones are in the first picture. The second pic is of the non-bluing type. The ones that don?t turn blue have a stem that is white below the cap and then fades to dark brown and the base. Both types have dark, almost black gills. I haven?t made a spore print yet. could somebody please tell me what kind of shrooms these might be...

Those are Copelandia cyanescens.
Also known as "Blue Meanies".
They are very potent Shrooms,
One dozen (12) of them, is a good starting dose.

Keep shroomin,
GG

I believe them all to be Meanies.

Well that last mushroom on the bottom,
If it has not stained or tinted blue yet,
Then that mushroom would be the in-active mushroom,
Pan. camp.

I would have to agree on the blue meanies ID...looks to be all of them...they have this certain look...antillarum all look like they are trying to be as cool as the others...but naw they are just fakin it...not these bad boys though...they are the real deal...nice find

Cheers

thanks for the help...i made spore prints from both blue and non blue and both prints were black. Is it possible for some of these that don?t bruise to still be active? Im kind of unsure about whether or not to eat the ones that didn?t stain blue...What kind of poisonous shrooms grow off cow dung (if any?). Would it be safe to say that all of the ones i picked were Copelandia cyanescens, even if no bluing occurs? Here?s another pic of the ones im not sure about....

Is it possible that these are cyanescens even though there is no noticlible bluing?
(The scan makes them look slightly blue but they don?t appear like that when you look at them..)

Hello i8shrooms,

That last pic is cool looking

It is i believe a mixed collection,
Of both;
Panaeolus sphinctrinus
&
Panaeolus campanulatus

Neither are psychoactive.

Great images,
GG
