We are looking for someone who enjoys this forum, checks it on a daily basis, has an even temperment, etc...

I would love to do it but I am uncertain as to what my Internet access will be like after I move in a few weeks.

with respect, i don't think Swami or Sclorch should me moderator. I feel they're deeply needed in this community, but i think someone with more "even temperment", less um.. well i'ma shut my big mouth. please no offense....

I also think Mr Mushrooms would make a good mod. Or Markos or somebody like that. I would say Swami but I think a lot of posts would get moved to OTD that way..

I have had many PM conversations with Mr_Mushrooms, and I know that he truly loves the Shroomery, and he only wants the best for it. He has also become comfortable enough here, at the Shroomery, to loosen up and go with the flow, and he has demonstrated a superior sense of humor. All of these qualities, in my estimation, are good qualities for a Mod! :cool:

I'm afraid I would be terribly irresponsible in such a position...

I think Mr Mushrooms would be a good moderator, as he seems both knowledgeable and open-minded -somewhat of a rarity...  :laugh:

I have cast the Lots, consulted the Entrails, and all portents point towards our esteemed Plato (Mr Mushrooms).
He is both intelligent and well spoken.
Most times he is even tempered, and at best a laugh.

I respect his knowledge of philosophers and vast cashe of 'Isims" - My Vote to Plato, a most excellent choice.

I nominate Swami.
Because he hasn't asked for it, and those who seek power tend to wield it poorly.

Everyone who has ever complained about Swami should nominate him.
Why? Because it's easy to be a bomb-throwing cynic when you're on the outside.
But once you're in a position of responsiblity, you tend to change your perspective.
So put up or shut up, believers!
If you're truly interested in the evolution of our brother, Swami, nominate him now!!    :smile:

I guess it really doesn't matter what I think about this particular debacle, the majority will rule. I wouldn't have a problem with Mr Mushrooms being moderator. He's on the fence. I think this forum would be more interesting with unbiased moderators (Shroomism- you're doing much better than when you first got the position, I'll give you that). However, Shroomism is staying on...

Although mathematically it doesn't work out (-1 + 0 = -1; though sometimes I question his ZERO status...), at least the scale will be more balanced with Mr Mushrooms on board. It will be interesting to see if the "tofu posters" adopt a more moderate stance (if you don't know what I'm talking about... even shroomers make that appeal to authority).

Maybe a gradual change might work out okay....
I have to say though, Swami would balance this forum better than Mr Mushrooms. It's that whole Yin/Yang thing.

Of course, I could be looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Wow, tough choices yet again. Damn.

Well I had only intended on one mod being added to this forum, but it was too difficult to choose just one.

Mr_Mushrooms is a great guy, cares a lot about this place, and has a really positive attitude... Not to mention an even temperment, which is key in a mod position.

Lozt_Soul, well I always love to add someone who's in a far away time zone, that way when the other mods are asleep the Europeans can keep an eye out :smile: I know he's a good guy, and my friend Scratcher met him this summer and spoke very highly of him.

So please welcome both Mr_Mushrooms and Lozt_Soul as our new mods...

Thanks for you interest, those who didn't get chosen know that there is always spots opening around these parts, keep your eyes open. :smile:
