Hi all,
I know this is suspicious coming from a new member, but I am going to ask anyway. I am a very seldom user of any substances, and therefor don't have any kind of source. I went to hempfest to try to get some shrooms like I did last year, but had no luck. I am just trying to get enough for two level 3-4 trips. Any advice on how best to get this? I have zero confidence in my growing ability. Thanks.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

mushroom hunting, pick up an identification guide to get an idea of what to look for in your area, you'll want further confirmation, our hunting forum can help, please read the rules there to get an accurate ID on the mushrooms, you certainly dont want to eat one that could kill you and you dont want to just post a bunch of pictures and annoy everyone

My best piece of advice for you would be to attend other events like Hempfest that attract crowds of people with similar interests as yourself that lean towards the psychedelic side of things. Or to get more confident in your growing ability.

You may not have confidence in your growing ability, but I'm quite certain you can do it, and you'll thank yourself in the long run. If you can follow instructions well you can probably grow mushrooms. Also as Pris said, hunting is an awesome activity and gives you a chance to explore nature.

IF you never use, why do you want a level 4 trip?
DUDE ITS DEA, RUN.
Seriously though, you need to meet people, I like the idea given of hanging out with people of the similar intrests. Hempfest is a good start...hey, its about that time again. Where are you from?
Just avoid the approaching random strangers and asking for drugs. That happened to me in the mall once. You wont get very far

Thanks for the reply. I thought that Hempfest would be a good place to try. I guess there may be others too. I just feel like an ass going up to people and asking about it randomly.

Keep an ear tuned for people walking around saying "boomers" or "chocolates" as they're likely selling mushrooms. Talk to em, feel em out, don't let yourself get ripped off. If you're not comfortable with the seller, walk away.

I may have to do that. I live in the East of Seattle area, so I guess there are a lot just around. I usually see just one or two alone in the grass, so it feels like it would take forever to find enough to use. I guess I am just lazy and looking for the easy way since it's such a rare occurrence.

Hi.
Learn to grow. It's easy.
And it doesn't really require a good mentor like you should have if you're going to learn to hunt.

How long would it take for me to grow enough for what I said? Maybe I should try this. I've got two jobs, and a 6 year old, so time isn't really something I have a lot of.

I didn't say I never use. I have with mushrooms before twice, and other stuff sometimes, but it's very rare.

From the Seattle area.

That's true. It worked at hempfest last year, but not this time. Basically, I have no time and just want to do this once with a loved one, mostly for their benefit (first time).

That is really good advice. I never heard those terms before. I'll keep my ear open for that. Thanks!

at roth, i was erm, talking, with a friendly group and some girl walked up offering chocolates for $20 or $25 each (don't remember, had already been dosed a bit by multiple people while making my rounds).
i asked her how much was in them. she replied 3.5 grams
i asked her if she weighed them before adding them to the chocolate or after. she faltered, then said after.
the people i was talking with then laughed in her face and started talking with me again. in a sad attempt to get some business, she then said she also had doses. they asked her how much, and she said $10/hit.
i told her to get the fuck out of the campsite and go try to rip other people off
i knoooooooow she hated me

No problem - sorry if you're getting some sort of snippy remarks here. The Shroomery is a cool place, but like most cool places, it sometimes suffers from a heavy dose of attitude and some people forget that once upon a time, before they were tripped out of their minds, they had no idea what they were doing/looking for! Good luck in your search. And now that I read you're in the Seattle area, I've always heard the hunting is great around those parts. Just BE CAREFUL, know what you're looking for, and don't eat ANYTHING before getting it properly ID'ed in the Mushroom Hunting forum here at the Shroomery, like Prisoner#1 suggested.

Thanks again. Where in the area would be a good place to hunt, and approximately what am I looking for? Also, do they grow in groups? I mean, could I find enough in one bunch for a whole dose?
