careless inoculation error

hello. a friend was innoculating some jars. a brand new syringe was used which came disassembled. when the needle was attached and the covering removed, he accidentally pricked a finger with the syringe. the hands were freshly washed with soap and water, then lathered with hand sanitizer. although the finger did not bleed for a minute or two, blood innevitably surfaced. the needle itself had some hand sanitizer applied to it after the accident although it wasnt sterilized with a flame which in hindsight was rather foolish. anyway, is there any chance that these jars are going to be alright? i know blood is a carrier of many bacteria. i guess there's nothing to do but wait and hope

it amazes me at how many people stab themselves with their syringes.
it might it might not just wait and see.
of course flaming the needle woulda solved it but it's too late to do anything now so wait and have hope.

regardless of whether or not it works, im certain the friend will be relieved enough just knowing that he isnt the only person dumb enough to try to inoculate their finger.

Jeez, I've given countless IV's to people and have never stuck myself once. You have to discard the needle and attach the tube quickly or they'll bleed everywhere out of the catheter, and having only two hands, one to put pressure above the catheter, and one to attach the tube... I'd have a loose needle.
Not. One. Time.
How the hell are you people sticking yourselves? Keep the sharp pointy object pointed AWAY from you!

I inoc'd 4 jars, two popcorn dried before i could see contam, but it did grow some. 2 Rye, 1 contam, one is dunking now. I poked my finger cause of a poor glovebox. I was on day 4 of after pressure cooking and quickly made my glove box. The gloves i had were short, and when i pulled the cap off the syringe it rubber banded back and i poked my thumb.

I was just giving you a hard time man. :P I have stabbed myself... numerous times. (Try giving an IV in a moving TRACKED vehicle.) Thankfully it was before I stuck someone else, though we're all supposed to have been clean.
I can definitely see how using a glove box would be an added risk.

LOL. yeah, I am really paranoid about getting stabbed, so I am usually very careful.
