i'm sorry, but that's cheesy as fuck, and the synth is pretty gay
i definitely prefer buckley's cover, although i do like the females singing in the back, but buckley's sounds more honest, i suppose

I spent a long night a while back going through the covers on youtube. There was actually a couple really good ones (and many god-aweful ones). The one that I can still remember was by some female pianist. I'll do a quick search to see if I can ring her version up.

She's pretty damn hot too, that might be a factor. She kind of reminds me of the milf from Weeds, if she were a classy singer lady instead of a dealer/runner.

LOL i agree, it is cheesy but i heard cohen's version first so when i heard the buckley cover, which definitely sounds phenomenal lol, i just couldn't like it as much because i knew the beautifully written lyrics weren't his. plus, such a beautiful song sung by a somewhat unconventionally beautiful voice (cohen's) made it sound more meaningful imo
