I installed it a few months back when it transitioned from release candidate to released. It clobbered the wireless networking on my laptop. I eventually fixed it after much tinkering. The other machines on my network took it without any apparent trouble.
Your mileage may vary.

From what I read it seems that the fault with wireless routers is that they weren't using the industry specifications and windows wasn't either untill the latest update. So it seems that the hardware manufacturers didn't really care about making their hardware capable of meeting the protocol standards, and only cared about making them work with windows- which really seems like poor design to me.
I guess they just presume the only operating system in the world is windows, or that if you don't use windows/ (mac I presume as well) you shouldn't be able to use their product even if your operating system fully complies with the applicable standards? Seems pretty silly.

I haven't installed it yet because of "phone home" concerns.
Anyone have any knowledge along those lines?
While my copy of XP is fully legit, I don't like my computer sending any more info than it has too.

On all three machines that I have installed SP3, including one that was a fresh install of XP with nothing else installed... all three cases now refuse to update. They download the patches via windows update, but then fail with an unknown error. (The error message claims there is a problem with my computer, as opposed to a problem with Microsoft's shitty OS). All copies of XP were legitimate with a valid license key. Two of the three were running under VMWare, however. I refuse to touch SP3... I think it is designed to force people to upgrade to Vista by breaking XP.
