I was just wondering if right after the first frost is really the best time to hunt for actives? I've heard this from a few people but a confirmation by the shroomery public would be more of a comfort... that and I tried a search with no luck are there any threads about hunting for actives in the northwest states of north america?
They probably are referring to Liberty Caps. You can find them then but I don't think it's "the best time." That would depend on the season. Maybe some others from PNW will post their experiences. You can find actives for many months, perhaps most of the year if you know all the species.
